Some Carrot. -A carrot of unique
form was brought into The Expositor
office on Wednesday by Mrs. Robert
Watson, Swirling Street. It measur-
ed six inches long and 71/4 inches
round the tap, but' there was -more to
t than that, , Dividing it into -almost
two aqual parts, was a fiat metal
washer with a Ei.-4.11 hole in the cen-
tre through which the carrot had
grown, the centre of the carrot being
only the .thickness of a pencil.

wedding took .place Saturday, Oct. 12,
at two o'clock at the. home of Mr.
and Mrs. -Robert McClure, McKillop,
when Rev. W. J. Patton united. their
youngest daughter, ...Catherine Ruth,
and. Elgin Archibald Dale, only son
of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Dale, of
'Huliett. The wedding party took their
place under an arch of maple boughs
and autumn flowers., while Miss Vera
Young,. of Gocierich, played the Bridal

Death of Mrs' Jarnes H. Ross. -«The
death took place in Hensall on. Tues-
day, Oct. 15, of Grace McGregor.
widow of the late James H. Ross, in
her 82nci year. Mrs. Rosshad been
in failing health ,for over a year and
had been confined to her bed most
of that time- Deceased was born in
Ttickersmith on the .2nd concession,
and was. married in 1895, living' on
the Bayfield Road, near Bannockburn,
and later residing in Stanley and Hay
•Townships. Following the death of
Mr. Ross about 25 years ago, Mrs.
Ross came to Seaforth where. she re-
sided on John Street, She is surviv-
ed by one sister, Mrs. Shaw, of Sim-
coe.-, and two brothers, Thomas Mc-
Gregor, of Carberry, Man., and John
McGregor, of Riverhurst, Sask. In
religion Mrs. Ross was a Presbyter-
ian. The' funeral was held from the
residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Crich
on Thursday with Rev. H. Williams
officiating. The pallbearers were
Messrs. Wilfred Ross, Robert McGre-
gor, Joseph McLellan, tennis Seaman,
J. C. Crich and Harvey McGregor. In-
terment was made in Hensall Union
Cetuetery.

tial mass on Saturday, Oct. 5, at St.
Teresa's Church, when. Miss Mary
Frances Andrews, daughter of M.

dents of Seaforth, where Atte bride
was born', was married to Earl V.
Lynch, son of Mrs. Elizabeth „Lynch,
of Leamington Pl. Given in marriage
by her father, the bride wore a white
Satin. gown ,fashioned with a' high,.
round neckline of net withdrop shoul-
ders, long pointed sleeves and chapel
length train.Her fingertip veil of il-
lusion fell from a crown of seed
pearls: She carried a white prayer
book with a shower of white roses.
The matron of honor, 'Ars., Paul T.
Sellers, wore a sffawberry pink gown
combining a rayon satin bodice with
a net 8,1tirt with insertions of satin
bands. She were a matching halo of
flowers in her hair with a short veil,

Marie Duggan and Betty Lynch, wore
blue nylon costumes with three-quar-
ter sleeves and a French ruffle across
the neckline. They wore- matching
hair flowers and veils, and carried
Colonial bouquets of pink roses 'and
blue deplainium. The bride's Mother
favored a brown wool suit with a
white blouse and gloves and a brown
hat. A grey suit with a matching hat
and white jabot and gloves were the
choice of the bridegroom's mother.
Both worse corsages --of roses. Don-
ald Lynch was$est man for' his bro-
ther. A breakfast was given .at the
Hotel Westbrook for 21 guests and a
reception followed in the evening at
th'e VFW Carlin Post Clubhouse.
Northside W. M. S. Meets. - The
monthly meeting of the Woman's Mis-
sionary Auxiliary of Northside United
Church was held Thursday, Oct. 10.

roses, and her only ornament was
angle strand of pearls and' ear-riuge
to match, the gift of the groom. Mrs.
George Bernard, sister of the bride,
was bridesmaid, gowned in pink sheer
with matching headdress, and carried
pink roses. Little Miss Linda Jervis,
of Clinton, was flower girl, daintly
dressed in ftoor-length dress of green
nylon and carrieda nosegay of yel,
low baby mums. The groom was at-
tended by his cousin, Vincent Young,
of Goderich. The groom's gift to, the
bridesmaid was a crystal vase, to the
flower girl a gold locket, to the pianist
pearl ear -rings, and to the grooms-
man, a leather billfold. For her
daughter's wedding, Mrs. McClure
chose se navy dress trimmed with
sequins with navy accessories. The
groom's :mother, ,Mrs. Dale, chose a
powder ,blue dress with black acCes-
sories. They both wore corsages of
Pink roses. A buffet lunch was serv-
ed to fifty guests'1331 Mrs. Mervin Nptt,
Ethel Wilson, Lorna Dale and Thel-
ma Glazier., The bride's table was at-
tractively decorated, centred with a
three -tiered weddingcake flanked
with white and pink streamers. For
the honeymoon trip tq Niagara Falls,
Buffalo, Toronto and Hamilton, the
bride travelled in a royal blue wooi
dress with matching, coat and plastic
accessories. They will reside on the
groom's farm in Hullett. Guests were
present from Sarnia, Collingwood, To-
ronto, Clinton and Seaforth. ,
