Eastern Star Holds Euchre. — The
ladies of the Eastern Star Lodge en-
tertained their friends to a. euchre
party on Friday evening last, when a
most enjoyable time was apent. There
were about 100 present. Mrs. ilelmar
Snell, Worthy Patron, welcomed the
guests, and the games were in charge
of Mrs. D. H. Wilson.. The prize win-
ners were: • Ladies, trst, Mrs. J. A.
Westcott; ione hands,' Mrs. W. L.
Whyte; men, first, Gordon McGavin;
lone hands, Norman Scoins. The
lucky chair prize was won by Mrs. M.
McKellar. •

Funeral of the Late John Mulligan.
—The funeralofthe late John Mulli-
gan was held on Tuesday, Sept. 24,
from St. 'James' Church, Seaforth.
Among those attending from a dia-
tance were: Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Mul-
ligan and Mrs. Barney Mulligan, De-
troit; Mr. and. Mrs, John' Morrisey,
Crediton; Mr. and Mrs. John Kipping,
London; Mrs. Joseph O'Connor, To-
ronto,' and Mrs. Clara Campbell; Lis-
towel.
Tuesday -Nie-ht Club Meets.—The
Tuesday Night Club of First Presby-
terian Church 'held a social evening
in the school room on Tuesday last,
when a most enjoyable time was
spent. Mrs. McCormack and Mrs,
Scott Habkirk were in charge of the
program. The new curtain for the
stage has been put up and plans are
being made for' interesting meetings
to be 'held in the homes during the
winter. Mr. 'Walker Hart rendered
several suitable songs and accompan-
ied himself on_the guitar and also led
in community singing. Following the
program a delicious lunch of ham-
burgers and doughnuts and coffee

Death of Mrs. Archibald MeNab.,a-
The d.eath occurred on Wednesday,
Octobe'r 2, of Catherine Ross, 'widow
of the late Archibald McNab in her
88th year, following a short illness.
Mrs. McNab was born inImiddlesex.
County, and was married in'MeKilloP
Township in 1880, and has resided for
many years ih Seaforth. and was well
known to many for her kind acts. She
is survived by two sons, Alexander
'McNab, of Seaferth, and Harold Mc -
Nab, of Kitchener, also by two sisters,
Mrs.. Ellen McIntyre, of Royal,. Mich.,
and Mrs. Flora Ross,- Detroit; • and
one brother, John Roes, of Michigan.
Mrs. McNab was a faithful member
of First Presbyterian Chureh., ' The
finieral will be held on Friday from
G. A. Whitney's 'Funeral Chapel at
2 -p.m., with Rev. R. H. Williams of-
ficiating. Intermeet will be made in
.Maitiandbank cemetery.
Father Dies in Milverton, -- John
Zimmerman, Milverton, died at his
home at 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27. He
had been suffering from a heart con-
dition for the past year. He was born
at Bornholm in Logan Township on
June 10, 1868, a son of the late Adam
and Katharine Zimmerman. - On June
15, l'893, he married Louise Murr. He
lived at Kuhryville, working on his
father's farm until he started to work
•with the Canadian Natiotal Railway
53 years ago. He spent the first six
years as a railway employee at
Brunner and went. to Milverton 4,7
years ago. Thirteen yearn ago he re-
tired from the railroad. He is sur-
vived: by his wife; one son, John, of
the Evangelical Lutheran Seminary,
Waterloo; five daughters, (Luella)

bore • the family name Joseph 13ren-
ner, 39, died suddenly in Kincardine
General Hospital Thursdayalast. Two
yeke ago. he disposed of the Bren-
ner House and since that time resid-
ed in Kincardine. Bern. in Grand Bend
he was associated with his father,
the late Ezra Brenner, in the hotel
prior to his death and for some years
later, conducted the resort hotel
known to thousanda of Americans and
,Canadians. Surviving are his widow
and son, James, Kincardine; ' his
mother, Mrs. Ezra. Brenner, and a
brother, Glen, Grand Bend. • Inter-
ment was made at Grand -Bend.

A lovely wedding was solemnized
at the Lutheran, Manse, Zurichas,on
Saturday, Sept. 21, at 2 p.m., when
Marjorie Aileen Datars, only daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Garnet Datars, be-
came the bride of Ervin Clarence
Releltert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred
Reichert. Rev. Heinrich, of Zurich,
performed the ceremony. For her wed-
dieg the attractive bride chose a floor
length satin and net, gown with long
sleeves' tagerieg to a point at fingers
with a sweetheart neckline. Her full
Skirt _of net over net had tapering
points, of satin. 'She wore a head-
dress with finger-tip •veil, and her only
ornament was a sweetheart' locket,
the gift of the groom. • She Carried a
caScade bouquet of red Briarcliffe ros-
es., MiSs Belva Truemner, cousin of
the bride, was bridesmaid, wearing.sa
blue 'sheer floor -length gown, with
:blue net headdress trimmed with
small roses and shoulder length. veil,
and carried a colonial bouquet of Jo-
hanna ,Hili roses. Mr. Ivan Reidhert,
twin brother -of the groona was best
man. Following the ceremony a re-
ception was held at the home of the
bride's parents for: forty guests, Mrs.
Datars receiving in a gown. of forest
green flowered Crepe. Mrs. Reichert
assisted, .dressed in a tworpiece dress
of black, trimmed with peach, and
both wore corsages of pink Briarciiffe
roses. The home decorations were in
pink and white, while the bridal table
was, centred with a three -tiered wed-
ding cake with white and pink tapers
and, white and pink candles in Silver
holders, also pink Dahlias -in a silver
basket completed• the decorations.
,Serving were Miss Anna- Datars •and
ldiss Elda. Reichert, cousins of the
bride "and groom, assisted by Mra.
William Oonsitt, Mrs. Orville Smith
and Mrs. Wilfred Weido. The groom's
sift to the bridesmaid was a silver
butter ,dish, and tothe- best man; a
billfold. The happy couple left .on a
trip to Buffalo, Niagara Falls and
Hamilton amid showers of confetti,
the bride travelling in palegreen
trimmed with brow,n„ with ma' tching
accessories 'ie. brown. They will re-
side in Hay Township..

bride's mother- wore a dress of Aqua
blue wool, end- the grooin's mother

es. Later Mr. and Mrs. Forrest left
on a motor trip through the Muskoka
District. The bride travelledin a grey
chalk stripped suit, topped with a pale
blue coat and black accessories. UP -

the groom's farm near Hensall.

,We have been enjoying most beau-
tiful weather for. this time of year,
but it looks very much like,a decid-
ed change. !We hope to have some
beautiful October days, as it makes
the autumn of the year so pleasant
for out-of-door work.
Sunday was rally day at the church
and Rev. Mr. McWilliams had a very
beautiful address for the'children. A
choir Of some of the younger chil-
dren sang very -nicely, with Mrs. Ken
:McKellar as leader.
' Mr. Ernest Allen has his garage
almost completed and it predents an
imposing appearance, making a great
addition to that part of the etreet
just south or the store.
Mr. Alex Gardiner is preparing to
renovate the house and barn on tbe
Wilson farm, which will Present a
fine appearance. This, is a fine situ -
tion for a nicely improved dwelling
and barn.
