L endoii Couple Observe Silver An-
niversary. — Mr. and Mrs- Norman
Bohannan, of Loddon, celebrated the
twenty-fifth anniversary of their mar-
riage at their home, 29 Kensington
Street, on Friday last. There were
about 40 guests entertained during
Mae evening, and a dinner party was
served on ,Friday and Saturday even-
ing to friends and relatives. Mrs.
Bohannan was the former, Leone
Keenan, daughter of Mr” and Mrs. ,J.
J. Keenan, of London, and Mr..Bohan-
nan was formerly a tailor in Stewart
Bros.' store, Seaforth" Many friends
extend congratulations. Quests were
present from Windsor, London and-

Death of William Young --The death
occurred on Wednesday, August 14,
of William Young, in Scott Memorial
Hospital, following an illness of three
days. Mr. Young was born in Hibbert
Township and was in his 78th year.
He farmed in that township until' a
fes years ago, when he came to live
with" his brother, James Young, who
predebeased him two years ago. He
attended S.S.•No. 3; Hibbert, school
and also Mitchell ,High School. He
is survived by one sister, Mrs. War-
ren Hutchison, of Hibbert, and '•one.
brother, "George Young, of Kisbey,
S -ask. The funeral was held on, Satur-
day, from the G. A. Whitney funeral
chapel with Rev. R. H. Williams
officiating. The pallbearers were
Messrs. A. C: Routledge, Hugh Hutch-
ison, Frank Hutchison. M. J.Crow-

ley, W-Dundi and Wm. Young,
Stratford. Interment was made in
Maitlandbank cemetery.' .,,

Death of Mrs. Mary Melady.-Mrs.
Mary Melady died at the home of her
sister, Eleanor Mulcahy, George "St.,
on Tuesday of last week after a long
•illness. She was, predeceased by her
husband in 1945. Mrs. Melady, the
fot'mer Mary Mulcahy, was born in
Hibbert` Township aid 'with the ex-
ception of eight years spent ,in the
United States, lived in Hibbert and
Seaforth allher life. 'Ste was a mem-
ber •' of St. James'' Roman Catholic
Church of Seaforth, and also a mem-
ber of the Catholic Women's League,
the Altar Society and the League of
the Sacred, Heart. Surviving is one
sister, Eleanor Mulcahy, George St.,
Seaforth. Tile funeral service was
held at St. James' Catholic . 'Church"
on _Thursday. Interment took place
at St...James' cemetery. The • pall-
bearers were James Hagan, Charles
Hagan, August Ducharme, Owen Rey-
nolds, John McQuaid and Jas. Jones.
.Among relatives , attending' the ser-
vice from a distance were Mr. and
Mrs, Thomas. Melady, Toronto;. Mr.
and Mrs. John, Melady, and James
Melady, Detroit; Miss Beating, To-
ronto. Requiem Mass was celebrated
by Rev. T. P. Hussey, Seaforth. •

ed Church was adorned with, `yellow
and white gladioli on Tuesday, Aug.
20, for the, marriage- of .Lillian Maxine
Lawrence, daughter of Mr. end tins.

Workman officiated. Mrs. J. A. Stew-
art presided - at the organ and Miss
Lois Whitney sang "The Lord's
Prayer" and "Through the Years."
Given. in marriage by her father, the
bride wore a dress of ivory net and
lace' over" white satin, fashioned with,.
a full bduffant skirt with ruffles of
silk lace inset ons; a fitted bodice
with tiny lace'c'5vered buttons down
the back, sweetheart neckline, quaint
puff sleeves and wearing white slik
mittens, full length veil of ivory net
with heart -shaped headdress of silk
lace, caught with tiny gardenias; and
she 'wore a pearl necklace. The
matron of honor, Mrs. K. E. J. Doher-
ty, sister of -the bride, was gowned
in pastel yellow net with matching
mtitens. She carr'ied a sunbeam bou-
quet of yellow roses and white asters
and wore a matching floral head-
dress" Mr. E. B. Moore, Smith's Falls,
attended his brother as groomsman,
and the ushers (were Mr. K. E. J.
Doherty, Toronto, and Mr. M. W.
Moore, of Prescott: After the wed-
ding' the guests were received at
the home of the bride's parents, fol-
lowed by dinner ate Northside United
Church. Mrs. Lawrence chose a love-
ly dress of apple green crepe with
sweetheart neckline, trimmed with
amber beads and gold nailheads.
Black accessories and corsage of yel-
low roses completed her ensemble.
Mrs. Price Naylor, sister of the
groom, in turquoise crepe{ assisted in
receiving. For travelling the bride
donned a ' suit of light, blue wool,
black accessories and corsage of
white roses. After a honeymoon in
Eastern' Uzlterio, Mr. and Mrs. Moore
will reside in St. Stephen, New
Brunswick. Guests were present
from •Prescott, .Toronto, Woodstock,
Exeter and Smith's Falls.
