Mrs. Hinton was in London' last
Week to meet the Trana-Canadel"Air-
lines which brought her daughter
from Montreal, who is visiting her
parents.
Shower For Mrs. Woods
A very pleasant time was spent on
evening at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Harvey Damm, of Kippen;
when the neighbors and friends, met
to honor their daughter, Mrs. Woods
(nee Anna Darnall), a recent bride.
During the evening Mr, Charles Alex-
ander and Mrs. Ross Broadfoot favor-
ed with some very pleasing old-time
music,. after which a contest for the
best dressed doll was enjoyed. Mrs.
Edgar McBride read an address to the
bride, and Misses Patsy Cooper, Ben-
nie Kyle and Carol Jones carried- in

War Bride Welcomed •
Mts. Helmer Taney, English wail
bride, arrived iu Hensall to join her
husband, Pte. Homer Tinney, who gr-
aved home from 'overseas in Fetira-
ary of this year, leaving ,hisbride of
four months in England. Mrs. Tin-
ney, who -resided in Susseat, England,
arrived in Canada on the Queen Mary
and in her honor a welcoming home
dinner was held at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Cambell Eyre, of Hensall,
at which turkey with all the trim-
mings was served. The house was
lovely -with Pink and white decera-
tions and, the table centered with a
wedding cake. Twenty immediate rel-
atives were present. Mrs. Eyre, sis-
a-r-in-law of Mrs. Tinney, was assist-
ed by Mrs. William Cole and Mrs.
Lloyd McLean, Mrs. Tinney enjoyed
the crossing and thinks Canada is' a
lovely country and the food exception-
ally good. In theliabonor a reception
will be held in• the Town Hall, Hen-
sall, on Friday evening, August 2, at
which everyone is welcome.
Mr. and Mrs, Lorne Elder and lit-•
tle son, Kenneth, have returned to
-Hamilton after spending two weeks'
holidays with Mr. and Mrs. John Pass -
mere at Grand Bend.
Mrs. Vernon Spray and little son,
Martin, of London, are spending this
