Your c'or-respondent - regret's very
much -to learn of the death of Mrs.
Edge R'oe,•-of the 14th concession of
McKillop, which took place -recently.
Mrs.', Roe, whose maiden name was
Roseila Holland, was a daughter -of
the late Robert Holland, apioneer
settler who lived on the boundary just
east of Walter), and her husband, 'who
survives her, is a son of the " late
Thomas Roe, yeoman, a Huron -Coun-
ty pioneer, who in his .time made a
fine contribution" to the community
life of the northeastern part of -Mc-
Killop. Practically the whole of Mrs.
Roe's married life, extending over 50
years, was spent on the farm on the
14th concession. "Oldtimer" thinks of
her as ralmoat the typical Ontario
mother of an earlier day, whose chief
interests in life •were her home and
her family, and who at the same ,time
wase a devoted wife,' -and a kindly,
generous and helpful neighbor. Our
memory of her will not soon pass
away.--OLDTIMER. • ,
