have been received by the Council of the
Township of Tuckersmith in regard, to chil-
dren being on the streets of the Village of
Egmondvr710. after nine o'clock in the even-
„ contrary to the R.S,O. 1927, Chp, 279,
Sec. 15.

Evening Auxiliary Meets
The' Evening Auxiliary held their
13av meeting, in the schoolroom of the
United Church 'Monday evening and
entertained as their guests. the W.
M S•- Mrs. Byran Kyle, the President,
was in the chair. Tile meeting open-
ed. With the • singing of "Jesus,' Lover
of My Soul," the roll call, a Canadian
patriot and the collection 'was taken.
Miss Gladys Luker contributed, a
lovely piano solo, "He Leadeth Me."
The devotional exercises were con-
ducted by Mrs. C. Psssmord•, consist -
fug. of scripture,- Psalnl 33." verses 12-
22, -and also gave a splendid paper on
"Patriotism and Prayer."' 'Audrey
Walsh favored' with lovely solos, ac-
companied by' hetseli :oll"•the guitar.
Her sele'ettcfits were "Beautiful Dream-
er" and "Irish Lullaby." The guest
speaker. Mrs. $ia?3MeKay, travelling
field` Secretary for ,the W.C.T.U. for
' htario,, presented an excellent dis-
course on' Temperance; 'dealing with
the subject, "Home.' and the Evils of
Alcohol." The annual auxiliary pic-
nic will be •helat 'on the attractive
grounds .of Mrs. E. Shadidic'k's' resi-
dence on Wednesday afternoon,' June
26: • at 6 p.m. 'Mrs. Shaddick 'will be
assisted, by Mis; Gladys Luker, Miss
Barbara Michie and Miss Margaret
Glenn will form the Sports committee.
As formerly, members may invite
guests.. The mothers are invited to
have their children in attendance. A
picnic luncheon will be served. 'Mss.
Hedden 'favored with a solo,- "God's.
,Tomorrow." Miss Luker accompany-
ing at the piano, A film was; shown
by Mr.7. 'McKay, after which refresh-
ments. were .served.

There were about 150 callers regis-
tered at John Elder's residence in
Hensall to' pay last respects to, the
late Mrs. Elder, on Sunday, May 19,
and many remarks were made about
the wonderful display of:flowers about
the casket; indicating the esteem in
which Mrs. Elder was held.

ada Temperance Act will be strictly
enforced in our country; 2., Tbat we
call upon the Government to immedi-
ately instruct :the provincial police
regarding their . duties in enforcing
the Temperance Act; 3. ,'That this
convention .place entirety on record as
strongly objecting to the' introduction
in the Province of new outlets for the..
sale' of liquor, such as cocktail bars;
4" That we very. much regret that wo-,
men's beverage rooms were not dis-
continued as requested by the large
petitions presented to' the Legislature
by representative societies;, 5. That
the so-called good will and, advertise-
ments of the Canadian, Breweries as
appearing in o,ur daily and• weekly
press be discontinued by Government
orders; .6. That copies .of the above
be pent to the' Premier and Attorney-
General; 7. That we • heartily' thank
the 'Ontario Temperance Federation
for so ably defending the• validity of
the Canada Temperance Act before
the Privy Cauncil;..a. That we pledge.
