Sunday.
Died yin Vancouver.—The death oc-
curredi in Vancouver, B.C., on Tues-
day, April 16th, of Dora, daughter of
the late Mr. and MGs. William Fowler,
of ' the Huron Road West, • and wife
of the late James Caldwell, in her
83rd year. Mr. and Mrs. Caldwell re-
sided for many years in North Dako-
ta following their marriage, and about
thirty-five years ago went to live in
Vancouver. Mrs. Caldwell is surviv-
ed by our sons:- 'A'hdrrew, Ralph,
Foxvler and Elmer, and one daughter;
Mrs. John Patton, of Vancouver. 'Mr.
Caldwell passed •away several years
ago. Interment was made in Van-
couver cemetery.

United Church •held their Easter
thankoffering Meeting- on,' Tuesday
evening, April 30th. A poem, ""At
Easter," was read by Mrs. R. Sav-
auge. "Rejoice, the Lord is King,"
was sung and Miss R. 'Fennell Ted in
prayer. .The president, Mrs. B,: F.
Christie, then welcomed the. .visiting
society, members and friends, follow-
ed with prayer by Mrs. R. Lawson.
The Bible reading, St. Matthew' 28,
was taken by Mrs,. Norman Knight.
A solo, "There is a Green Hill Far
Away,"- was sung by Miss Pat Beck-
ely, accompanied on the piano 'by
;Mrs. F. J. Bechely and was much ap-
preciated. Mrs. J. E. Keating then
favored with a piano solo, "Nearer
My God To Thee," and was much en-
joyed. Dr. Hogg, guest speaker for
the evening, related his experiences
and work in the m,i.ssion fields of Al-
berta
and proved very interesting.
The meeting closed by singing "O,For
a Closer Walk With,God" and repeat-
ing the Mizpah benediction in unison.
A social hour• followed and a delicious
lunch was served by the social com-
mittee.

Eckert - Warren. — All Saints'
Chureh, 'Strathroy, Ont., was the
scene of a wedding, on Easter' Mon-
day morning when Rona Leone War-
ren, daughter of Mrs. Arthur Warren,
Strathroy,-and the late Mr. Warren,
was united in 'marriage .,,to James
Francis Eckert, of Ridgetown, son of
Mr. and Mrs.. J. M. Egkert, of Sea -
forth. '•fThe -ceremony was performed
by Rev. T. .J. Ford, of London, Ont-,
formerly of Strathroy. The wedding
music was played by Miss Catherine
Toal. The bride, who was given in
marriage by her brother, Arthur Cyrit
Warren, wore a floor -length gown of
w• to satin with lace yoke and long
Wed sleeves and a net embroidered
fingertip veil caught in a headdress
of French lace. She carried a bou-
quet of Better Time roses. Miss
Margaret Warren, her sister's brides-
maid, wore a floor -length gown of
blue sheer with blue feather head-
dress and matching shoulder -length
veil, and carried, a bouquet of Delight
roses. Mrs.' Warren, the bride's
mother, wore a two-piece dress of
new blue with navy accessorie's and
wore a corsage of pink carnation's.
The mother of the groom wore a
black dress with matching accessor-
ies .and a corsage of pink carnations.
Mr. Aldheim Eckert, brother of the
groom, was best man, and. the ushers
were Mr, Arthur -Devereaux and Mr.
William J. Pope, of London., A reeep
tion was held at the home of the
bride's -mother•, Front Street, follow
Ing the ceremony. Later the young
Couple. left' en a trip to'Chicago. On
their return they will reside at Ridge -
town, Ont.

Death of Richard John Kruse..-
Egmondville and district suffered'.the
loss of one of their oldest, most widely
known and esteemed residents' on
Saturday' morning, April 27th, when
,Richard John Kruse , passed away
at his home in Egmondville. • Mr.
ii•r-use_-.liad..been'_in. declining 'health
for some time, having suffered from a
heart ailment. The deceased was the
eldest son of the late Clause Kruse,
one of the pioneer residents "poi Eg-
mondville, where he was born ori
May 22, 1868; and where his entire
life was spent. For many Yearshe
was actively engaged as -a building
contractor and tile manufacturer, and
in recent years had owned and oyer-
ated a chopping mill until his retire-
ment' from active business a short
time ago, Mr. Kruse was a man of
genial personality. sOund business

familiar- frgnre' wilt-'-be-greatly' rutse
in the community where he, had held
an honored place for so many years:

ada, The funeral was held from his
late residence in Egmondville on
Mondaly afternoon, when the services
Were conducted by Rev. A. W. Gard-
iner, of Egmondville United Church,
of which' 'Mr. Kruse was a member.
Interment was made in Maitlandhank
cemtery. The pall bearer's were W. J.
Finnigan, Fred Adams, Alex Boyes,
Roy. McGeoch, Scott Cluff and -'Alex
Lillico, The flower-bearere Were W.
Leyburn; A. Wright, W.,. Kruse. H.
Kruse, Raymond Nott4 and John Ord -

veils, and carried bouquets of carna,.

They wore floor -length gowns of blue
length gowns of yellow net with Jul-
iet cap. The other flower girl, Elsie
Willoughby, wore pink net with it -

Haines and David Zonalla. Mrs. El-
sie White -was soloist. The bride's
