Ave. 'home. Born in \Seaforth, ie
spent some' time in Dunnville before
coming to Toronto: Mr. Forbes was
a member of Britannia Lodge, . A.F.
and A.M-, 'Seaforth, and the Knights
of the Mystic Shrine, London, Ont.
He was pa$t-presidelnt .of the West
Toronto Bowling Club, a member of
the Toronto Curling Club, 'and former
member . of the • Lakeview. Curling
club. . He was also a 'member of the
Board of Stewards, College Street
IInited Church, where funeral ser-
vices were held Tuesday at 2 p.m.
Interment • was made in Park Lawn
cemetery- Surviving are his widow,
Martha Adams Forbes, and two daugh-
ters,
aughters, Mrs. W.' Fleury and Mrs. L. J.
Spry. Mr. Forbes was the second son
of the, late Arthur Fgrhes•; one of the
most prominent pioneer 1lusinessme,n,
of. 'Seaforth, 'here he was horn and
received his education in the public
school and Collegiate'Insti'tute, and in
his ,youth was prominent in sports.
For some years before going to To-
ronto, he was extensively engaged
in niunicival telephone 'Construction
work. Last summer he spent"a week
in Seaforth renewing old friendship's
in town and distrct, and he has a
host of trends here who will. sincere-
ly regret to Learn of his death.

sionary Auxiliary' of Northside United
Church was held on Thursday, March
14th. , Mrs. R. Lawson, the president.'
opened the meeting with the hymn,
"'O Spirit. of the Living God," follow-
ed with the Lord's Prayer in unison.
Minutes of the February meeting
were read by the secretary'; Mrs.
Porteous, and the treasurer's report
by Miss A. Ferguson. Mrs. J. Finlay-
son
inlayson gave a reading on Christian Stew-
ardship. A Scripture :reading was' giv-
en..4rem--the--E.pis'r1 or James, chap-

McQuaig read the answer to one of
them. The collection was taken up by
Mrs. M. -McPhee,, The 'meetleg clos-
ed by repeating the Mizpah- benedic-
tion.
Egmonvilte W. M. S. _ •The Eg-
dmondvilte , W.M.S. entertained' the
Baby. Band in the basement of the
church on Thursday,. March 14th. The
meeting opened with the Baby Band
leader, Mrs, 'McLeod, in the chair, and
the singing of die hymn, "Jesus Loves
Me." Mrs. Hugh Chesney •favored
with a solo, "My Wild Irish Rose,'
accompanied by Mrs, J. McGregor on
