The Late William M. Hugill—The
death occurred on. Friday, Sept. lst,
at his home on James Street of a well
known resident, in the person of
William M. Magill, ia his 82nd year.
Mr. Hugill was born ia McKillop 'in
1863, and had lived at Constancl for
over fifty years, following his trade
as a carriage maker, and came to
reside in Seaforth about six years
ago. He was unmarried, but is sur-
vived by one brother, Mr. J. J. Ruin,
of Constance: Five sisters and two
brothers predeceased him. The fun-
eral was held on Monday afternoon
from the G. A. Whitney Funeral
Chapel at 2 p.m. Interment was
made in Constance cemetery.

Death of Robert Arc-hibald.,,— The
death occurred in St. Joseph's Hospi-
tal, London, On Thursday, August 31,
of a well known and highly esteemed
resident of Seaforth and vicinity in
the person of Robert Archibald. 'Mr.
Archibald had been in falling health
for some months before his •removal
to the hospital some weeks ago. He
was a 'son .of the late Willie& Archi-
bald and was born in Tuckersmith
Township 77 years ago. At the age
of two years he moved with his par-.
ents to McKillop Township, where as
•a young man he farmed successfully
for a number of years. Twenty-five
years ago he retired from farming
and came to Seaforth andpurehased
the residence on James Street, where'
he resided, until his death. In 1898.
he was united in marriage to Miss
Lucy' Hillen, who survives him, al-
though she has been seriously :ill in
Scott Memorial Hospital for some
months. One daughter, Mrs. Charles
Else, predeceased 'him a number of
yea'rs ago. Surviving are three sisters,
.Mrs. James Hays, Seaforth; Mrs.
Thomas Dodds, Seattle, Wash., and
Mrs. Hugh Grieve, Alberta; and two
brothers, Mr. Thomas Archibald, Of
M6Killop, and Mr: Walter Archibald,
Kansas. The funeral was held on
Saturday afternoon from the G. A.
•Whitney Funeral Chapel, when his
'pastor, Rev. H. V. Workman, con-
ducted the service. Interment was
made in Maitlandbank cemetery, the,
pallbearers being 'Messrs. Roy Tur-
vey, W. Whitfield, E. Miller, Stanley
Hillen, Harvey Hillen and Robert
Archibald.
Northside Y., P. U. .Meets. -- The
first meeting of the "Y.P,T.J. of North-
side United Chureh was held Thurs-
day, Aug. 31st, at 8 o'clock and took
the form of a social evening at the
home of Rev. and Mrs. H. V. Work-
man. The meeting was held in hon-
or of Miss Marguerite Westeott, who
left the young people and is training
in Hamilton 'General Hospital. Con-
tests, were held, and after a few words
by President Ernie Clarke, Maxine.
Lawrence read an address and Pat
Bechely presented 'Marguerite with a
lovely picture, a gift of remembrance
from the Y.P.U. An abundant lunch
was served and 'the meeting closed
witb "God Save the King" and "Auld
Lang `Syne," The following' is the
address: "Dear Marguerite: We, the
members of Northside Young Peo-
ple's 'Unien, have'learned of your de-
cision •to leave your home town in
order that you might begin your
training for the nursing profession.
We congratulate you on having come
to this important time in your life,
and we have pleasure in all your at,
tainments to date; nevertheless, •we
regret very sincerely that we shall be
deprived of your presence and abili-
ties in the work of the church, and

term as president, nor of the leader.
