The Late Mrs. James McQuarrie.
The ,death -occurred in Scott Memor-
ial Hospital on Wednesday of Wil-
helmina Toms, widow of the late
James McQuarrie, in her 84th year.
The deceased was born in Egmond-
ville and was married over thirty-
five years ago, and lived in Portage
la Prairie and Winnipeg until she re-
moved to Egmondville following the
death of her husband some 11 years
ago. She was the daughter of the
late Mr. ,and. Mrs. Christopher Toms,
of Egraondville, and was a faithful
member of the W.M.S. of Egmond-
ville Church. Surviving are two sis-
ters, Miss Louiea Toms and Mrs.
Sophia Reinke. The funeral will take
place on Friday from the G. A. Whit-
ney Funeral Chapel at 2.30 p.m., witil
interment in "Maitlandbank cemetery.

Northside W. M. S. Meets. — The
monthly meeting of the Women's
Missionary . Auxiliary of Northside
United Church was held in the school
room on Thutsday, July 13th, with
the president, Mrs. R. Lawson, pre-
siding. Minutes and reports were
followed with a short business ds -
mission. Mrs. C. C. Keine gave a
temperance reading entitled, "Non-
drinkers in the Army." The roll was
called and four visits to sfiut-ins were
;reported. Mrs. J. Finlayson and her
circle conducted the worship servite,
which was a temperance program.
"Paul's Prayer For Christians and the
Church" was read by 1VIrs: J. Consitt.
A. quiz was led by Mrs. A, McQuaig.
Scripture passages dealing with ,tem-
perance were rend by Mrs. M. Mc-
Phee; a paper by Miss M. Somerville
entitled, "Christian Citizenship and
Social Drinking," was followed with
•the prayer of St. Franeis. •by'Mrs. J.
D. Hinchley. The meeting closed witb
prayerbyMrs. J. Finlayson.
Egmondville W. M. Eg-
mondville W.M.S. held their regular
meeting in .the vestry of the church
on Tuesday, July 4th, with the presi-
dent in the chair. The meeting open-
ed by ush of Hymn 414, "Hast Thou
Not Known, Hast Thou Not Heahrd?"
and 'prayer, and ,Hymn 681' Was read
in.. Unison The minutes •-of the last
meeting were adopted as read. Roll
call was responded to by six mem-
bers and one visitor. 'Mrs. McMillan
gave: the treasurer's report. Mrs.
Keyes and Mrs, Clemente were ap-
pointed a visiting committee. Mrs.
Latter volunteered to help with the
August meeting and to speak on work
she had been doing at Mimico. Hymn
348 was sung, "0. Lord and Master
Of Us All." The worship service was
taken from the Missionary Monthly,
led by Mrs. W. A. Gardiner. Hymn
416 was read. by all and discussions
were enjoyed during the service.
Hymn 447 was used as a closing
hymn. Mrs. Nott gave a report of the
Presbyterial meeting held at Clinton.
and Mrs. Latter closed the meeting
with prayer.

studied this year. The roll call was
"My favorite milk dish," accompan-
ied by the recipe. "The home girl
entertains informally at tea" was
demonstrated by Miss Eileen. Han-

ed. Misses Helen Thomson and Mar-
guerite Henning gave talks on l'Play
Safe • With Milk" illustrated with
charts. Record books, hand made re-
cipe books and envelopes were ex-
hibited by members of the class.

Church 'met this week in the Sunday
school room of the church. The new-

St. George's Church was beautifully
decorated on Sunday with a profusion
of summer flowers for its 64th anni-
versary .services. Rev: M. F, Oldham
conducted both, services. He coin-
mented, on the plan and architecture
of the' church and Paid fitting triblite
to the forebearers who made possible
its buildings and progress throughout
the years. 'The subject Of the morn-
ing service was "Working For God."
A much .appreciated solo, "The Beau-
tiful Garden of Prayer," was sung by
Mrs. Herbert Travis. The choir ren-
dere& an anthem, "Saved To Save
Others." At the evening service Miss
Mergaret Habkirk sang "When the
World Forgets," accomPanled by her
sister, Miss Jean Ilabkirk. The choir
rendered an anthem, "The Peace That
Jesus Gives." Miss Emma Sandersen
was organist at both services. • The

boring dogs must_purchase 1944 iiicenses for same
on or before July 19, 1944. Licenses will b& issued
from the Treasurer's Office in the Town Hall.
After that date summonses through the Court
will be' issted, to the owners' or harbourers of dogs
not having licenses.

• Many complaints have been received about dogs
damaging gardens and flower beds. OWners or har-
bourers are personally responsible and; if necessary,
dogs will not be allowed to run at large.
