finger-tip veil of tulle illusion was
held to a Dutch cap ofs'white lace
trimmed with lilies -of -the -valley. She
coasried a Colonial bouquet of red,
white and blue flowers tied with
streamers of the Royal Canadian Air
Force colors. She had her two sis-
ters .as attendants, the Misses Ruth
and Audrey Greenwood, and Miss
Helen Blampied as maid, of honour.
They sure gowned alike in taffeta
frocks,having three-quarter length
sleeves and full skirts of net, and
their headdresses were Dutch caps
trimmed with lilies -of -the -valley. They
carried -Colonial bouquets. The maid
of honour was gowned in turquoise
blue, Miss Ruth Greeriwood in heav-
enly blue and Miss Audrey Greenwood
in carnation pink. Corporal G. W.
Free, R.C.A.M.C., acted as best man
for iiis brother, and the ushers were
Mr. Norman McPhee, Jr., and Lieut.
A. G. Burdon, F.C.B. Mrs. Greenwood
was gowned in a two-pfece dress of
whisper blue crepe wearing black ac-
cessories and a corsage of red roses
Northside Y-. P. U. Meets. — The
regular meeting of Noithside United
Church Young Peple was held Tuet-
day evening. The meeting opened by
singingthe hymn, "Lord, Thy Mercy
Now Entreatiag," followed by the
Lord's Prayer. The roll call was tak-
en and the minutes of the last nieet-
ing were'read and adopted as correct.
"Take Time To Be Holy" was sung
and the devotional convener, Ernie
Clarke, took charge. The Scripture
lesson, Luke 12:2,8-39, was read. by
Maxine Lawrence. The topic, led by
E. Clarke, was in the form of a dis-
cussion dealing with the right and
wrong 'doings of Christiane. The
hymn, "The Day Thou Gayest," was
sung and the meeting closed by re-
peating the benediction.

The opening ,meeting of the C.G.I.T.
of First Presbyterian Church was
held on Tuesday evening and was in
the form 'of a potluck supper. There
were ten girls present and during the
supper ,• hour a presentation of cos-
metic bags were made. to Miss Win-
nifred Russell and ,Miss Mildred Ait-
cheson. Miss Russell leaves on Sat-
urday for the University of Toronto,
and Miss Aitcheson leaves next.week
for Stratford where she will train

"Post -War Problems." The roll call
will be "My achievement for the

While the Kippen East Women's In-
stitute has not met during July and
August, it's wartime. activities have
gone on as usual," The July boxes
were packed at, the home of Mrs.
Glenn McLean and ten boxes were
sent to the following boys: Albeit
Chipohase, Bill Ohipchase, Jack Tay-
lor, Sid Taylor, Frank Young, Melvin
Taylor, Victor Black, George Few,
Tom Smith and Wilfred- Cameron.
Cigarettes were sent for the month
of August, and the September boxes
were packed at the home of. Mrs. Joe.
McLellan and Mrs. H. ;McGregor. In
addition to these boxes, a .good ship-
ment of berry jam -and honey have
been forwarded to Toronto Red Cross
headquarters and the ladies are ap-
pealing to the public for apples snit -
able for jelly or marmalade. No. con-
tribution is too small. Fruit is
scarce and the Institute has over
1,000 pounds to make yet to fill the
1913 quota of 1,450 pound -s.
The service next 'Sunday'skill be in
charge of the minister, who will adopt
the Ontario Religiane Education Rally
Day program. This Education Coun-
cil is urging parents .and children to.
be present at their nearest church,
service for the day. '• •

not as good a sample as other years.

returned to their respective homes af-
ter being guests for a week with their
nephews, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. David-

Miss Ellen Love visited
with friends at Centralia.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Finlay, of
Blake, visited with Mr. and Mrs. El-
don Jarrott.
The forty-ninth anniversary of the
church held last Sunday was a very
'succese.ful one. Mr. Thomas Sherritt
who, rendered two excellent tenor
soths, accompanied by his wife, was
very much appreciated by the congre-
gation. It is to the credit of the con-
gregation that it has within its mem-
bership., some women and 'girls and
men too, who are willingly and cap-
able of successfully serving as a
choir on this occasion. Mrs. Ross
Dick was leader and Elizabeth Grant
was at the organ. In the evening the
choir from ,Goshen .Church, with Mrs.
Anderson' at the organ, made a real

The home of Mr. and Mrs. Allen
MacDougald; Cromarty, was the set-
ting for a pretty autumn wedding on
Saturday morning • last when their
youngeet daughter,sAnnie Ethel Mar-
jorie, became the bride of Hugh Mur-
ray Norris, son of Mr. ;and Mrs. Har-
ry Norris. Rev. Mr. MacWilliams
performed the ceremony before a
bank of ferns and gladioli. Mrs. Ray
Norris played the wedding march anl
"I Love, You Truly," during the sign-
ing of the register. The bride, given
in Marriage by her eldest brother,
Mr. Allan MatDougald, wore a floor -
length gown of pale blue sheer ands a
sterling silver locket, gift of the
bridegroom. -She carried a boutpiet
pink roses and fern with , a sprig of
heather. Miss :1Viargaret sis-
ter I'd the bridegroom, was brides-
maid, wearing a street -length dress of
pale pink sheer, and carried a bou-
