MAN KILLED IN
ROAD 'ACCIDENT
Herman Wolff Instantly
Killed When Struck By
Snowplow.
NEAR ZURICH
Herman Wolff, age 23, of Hensall,
was intis'tantly killed' near Zurich Mon-
day night when lie was run' over by a
snowplow that was battling drifts in
an attempt to clear district 'roads.
The accident occurred one mile south
of Zurich.
• Mr. Wolff was assisting Wilson Al -
lean, of Hensall, who was operating
the plow. Mr. Allen staid he was driv-.
ing the plow into a snowdrift when
he felt a .bump as if the wheels of
the vehicle had run over something.
He stopped and got out and found
that the plow bad run over Mr: Wolff,
`M the time of the accident Mr,
. Wolff was working at the nide of the
plow. He is believed to have slipped
and fallen under one of the wheels.
Dr. P. J. O'Dwyer, of • Zurich, dis-
trict coroner, was called and declar-
ed' an inquest was not necessary.
The body was taken to" Zurich' fun-
eral parlor and then moved to Hen-
sall
Besddes his wife, Mr. Wolff leaves
One son, Lloyd; his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Charles Wolff; one brother. Al-
bert, of Goderich, and the following.
sisters: Mrs. Edna Rohner, of Lon-
don; Mrs. Robert Marley,- of St. Cath-
arines ; Miss Shirley Wolff, of St.
. Catharines, Mrs. George Moir,' of Hen-
salls and Mrs. M,,,.Cdoper, E'gmondville.
• A public funeral service will beheld
from .the home of his parents, Mr.
and Mrs, Charles ,Wolff, Hensall. on
Friday afternoon, at 2 p,m. Rev.
M. A. Hunt, of 'Trivitt Memorial
Church, Exeter, and St. Paula Angli-
can Church, Hensall, officiated. Bur-
ial was made in Hensall Union Ceme-

separate' school was held recently,
when the follhwing officers and ,board
of •trustees were elected for 1943:

The Red Cross Young Women's
Auxiliary will hold their annual meet-
ing and election of officers' on Thurs-
day, January 28th, at 8 p.m.,• in the
public library hall. Ail, wbo are in-
terested will please attend.
