dress with finger-tip veil and carried
a bouquet of red roses. The maid of
honor, Miss Marjorie McIntosh,
bridesmaids Mrs. James McIntosh
and Mrs. Clarence B. Dales, all wore
dresses on. similar lines — glazed
chintz jumpers worn over white sheer
blouses, smocked at the neck and
wrists. They, carried 'garden hats of
white straw edged with frills of jum-
per niaterial, and filled with garden
flowers. • Lee Trusler was best man;
James McIntosh and Richard Wad,
dington, Windsor, were ushere. For
the reception at the home of the
bride's parents, the ,bride's mother
wore a powder blue silk crepe gown
with black picture hat and black
suede shoes. T'he groom's mother
wore a two-tone sheer dress with
matching felt hat in burgundy and
old rose and corsage of roses, The
couple left on a motor trip through
the Georgian Bay district. The bride
wore a blue and 'white printed silk
dress with matching blue angora wool
jacket, white accessories and corsage
of red rases.
Died in Stratford. — Jelin Thomas
Trout, 74 Louise Street, a resident of
Sti.atford since 1905, died at noon
Tuesday at his home. Mr.. Trout had
been ill about six weeks. Born in
Birmingham. England, nearly seventy-
five years ago, he was the son of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Trout. Fifty-
three , years ago he was married to
Miss,°Sarali: Anne Howells, also of
Birn.ingliam. In. 1905 they came to
Canada and settled in Stratford where
Mr. Trout was a machinist at the
Canadian National Railways motive
power shops until his retirement
eight years ago, A charter member
of• Mentorial Baptist Church, Mr.
Trout was an ardent worker in all
church departments., He was a trus-
tee and a former deacon of the church
and was active in Sundayachool work
until the time of his last illness. Mr.
Trout is survived by his wife, one son,
John Thomas, Jr., 86 Louise Street,
and four daughters, Mrs. John Hodg-
son (Eva), Carson, Sask.; Mrs. John
Gray (May), Rowletta, Sask.; Mrs. W.
J. Thompson (Esther), Seaferth; Mrs.
Stanley Baggett (Grace), Hamilton.
Two' other daughters, Mrs. Gordon
Chambers (Edna) and Mrs: Robert
Simpson (Doris) who were both mis-
sionaries in Africa, predeceased him.
There are six 'grandchildren. A sis-
ter, Mrs. George Dobbins, lives in
London.

Barbara Kirkman Auxiliary. — The
August meeting of the Barbara Kirk-
man Auxiliary of First Presbyterian
Church was held on Tuesday evening.
In the absence of the president, Mia.
Hugh Jack occupied the chair for the
opening of the meeting and routine
business. Mrs. Jack announced the
Preglayterial rally, to be held in Exe-
ter on September 15th and asked for
a good attendance at it of the mem-
bers of the Auxiliary.' The program
was in charge of the, Douglas proup
with ,Mrs.. Wright presiding. Mrs. J.
E. Daley read the Scripture lesson;
Mrs. McKellar gave the Glad Tidings
prayer and Mrs. W. A. Wright sang,
• "I'll Go Where He Wants Me To Gd."

First Presbyterian Chu in the

August 25th, at three o'clock. The
.president, Mrs. T. B. Govenlodk, op-
ened the ,meeting with prayer. Mrs.
James Kerr, secretary, gave a very
comprehensive report of the June
meeting. 'Mrs. Hugh Jack brought
some highlights on the Septembef
rally which is to be held in -Exeter,
Tuesday, September 15th. Every
member is urged tote present. Mrs.
Robert • Eberhart and Mrs. H. Stew-
art were appointed to confer with the
Barbara Kirkman Auxiliary in regard
to the transportation of 3;aenabersi of
both societies to this tally. The prci-
gram was conducted by Mrs. Charles
Brodie's group. Mrs. Brodie gave 'an
opening prayer, followed by Hymn
374 sent in by Miss Neilans. The
Scripture .lesson was read. by Mrs.
McLaren; an article on "What •the
Bible Means" sent in by Mrs. Boyd,
was read by Mrs. 3. C. Greig; a Bible
selection chosen' by Mrs. G. B. Dor-

Church on Wednesday, August 26th,
at, 5 p.m.; when Jean McGuire, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dempsey,
of Stratford, was :united, in marriage
to Mr. Harold John Ross, son of 'Mr.
and Mrs. J. R. Ross, of Stratford. Rev.
H. V. Workman performed the cere-
mony. The bride was Charming in a
powder 'blue redingote with black ac-
cessories and silver fox furs. and

Death •of Well Known Hanna Reel -

regret, of the death of Mrs. Isabella
Smith. who passed away there very
suddenly on Wednesday, July 29th.
The late Mrs. Smith was visiting at
the home of Mr: and, Mrs. J. Tyler,
01 Wardlaw, Alta., when.she suffered
a stroke from which she failed to
recover. Deceased was the eldest
daughter of the late Peter and arra.
Moore, of Tuckersmith, where she
was born July 11, 1871an.nd moving
to Algoma District with her parents
in 1894. Iri 1897 she was united in
marriage at Saint Ste. Marie to Mr.
Stephen Smith, where they Made
their home for several years before
