marriage to Mr. Franklin V. Miller,
son of Mrs. Louise Miller, New York,
Former Resident Dies in Goderich.
—Citizens of Goderich were deeply
shocked when, they learned that Wm
Parker Abell, 59, had died euddenly
on Saturday night. Mr. Abell 'had left
Craigie's News, Stand where he was
employed as salesman, about 10.45
p.m. to go home. He called in at the
office of the Edward Taxi, and was
chatting there when be was seized
with a heart attack, expiring shortly
after medical assistance arrived. Quiet•
and Unassuming in manner, Mr. Abelt
was a general favorite, and his death
is widely regretted. He was the son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Abell,
of Seaforth, where he was born and'
received his education He went to
Goderich 35 years ago, and until 1931
was employed as a plumber with C.
C. Lee and since then had been in
the position he held .at the time of
his death. He was a member of Knox
Presbyterian Church and a Past Noble
Grand of Huron Lodge, 1.0.0.F., and
a member of the Goderich Lawn B,owl-
ing Club. Surviving are • his widow,
formerly Miss Alexina • Craigie, and
three children, Mrs. T. White (Irene)
of Toronte; John, Toronto; and
James et home; a .brother. Henry and
two sisers, Misses Gertrude and Ella
Abell, all of London.

Death of Mrs. Hugh .Fennell.—Mrs.
Margaret Ann Fennell, widow of Hugh
Fennell,' of Grand Valley, died Wed-
nesday at her home in Seaforth, after
a long illness. Mrs. Fennell was for-
merly Miss Tate and was horn in
Grand Valley and lived all her life
there, coming here to spend the win-
ters for the 'past seven years with her
daughter. Miss Rena Fennell, of the
Seaforth .Collegiate teaching staff.
She was married. 45 years ago and for
ten years Lived on a farm near Grand
Valley, and later in that` village. She
was a member of Trinity United
Church, Grand Valley, and interested
in all dhureh activities. She was a
member of the W.M.S. and bhe Wo-
men's Association of that church. Her
huShand predeceased her in 1927. She
is survived by two sons, T. T. Fen-
nell, Toronto, and,. Dr. M. H. Fennell,
Galt, and one daughter,, Miss Rena,
of Seaforth; two sisters, Mrs. T. J.
Lewis, Vancouver, end. Mrs. John A.
Simpson, Grand Valley; three bro-
thel -s, Rev, Crawford Tate, Toronto,
and W. T. and Stewart Tate, both of
Grand Valley. The funeral will take
place from Grand Valley United
Church on Friday, .Tune 13bh, follow-
ed by interment in Bowling Green

Death came with startling sudden!

Francis Purcell passed away at his
borne on Market Street. Mr. Purcell
had got been in the best of health for
some time, but had been about every

Forty-one years ago he wee united in
marriage to Miss Bridget Horan, also
of McKillop, who survives him, to-
gether with a family of three sons
and two daughters: Mrs. J. O'Rourke
and Mr. Joseph Purcell, of Detroit;
Mr. Louis Purcell, of California, and
Miss 'Loretta and Mr. Basil Purcell, 'at
home. He is also survived by one
brother and two sisters, Mrs. F. Ken-
ny, • Dublin; Mrs. P. Longeway,
Guelph, and Mr. William Puecell, De-
troit. The funeral,,will be held from
his late home on Saturday morning
at 9.30 to St. JamesCatholic Church,
of which he was a devout member,
followed by interment in St. James'
ctuetery.

CROMARTY
Rev. Ernest Grigg, of Exeter, occu-
pied the pulpit on Sunday last add
gave a very wonderful and inspiring
sermon. Mr. Grigg has Spent a num-
ber of years as a' missionary, in Bur-
ma and although advanced in years,
he is still very active and alert. He
gave a very concise description Of his
work in Burma and the'great success
they Met, with among the natives of
that ,country, bringing many out of
darkness into a saving knowledge of
Savionr.
