IVIr. and Mrs. J. R. McDon-
ald Observe ,Golden
Weddlag.

Mr. and Mrs. J. R. McDonald, high-
ly esteemed district residents, who re-
side on Highway No. 4, a mile and a
•quarter south of Masan, celebrated
their golden wedding anniversary at
their home Monday. Members of their
family were present for the occasion.
They were the recipients of lovely
flowers and cards and tri -light floor
lamp from members of the family..
Sixty guests at down to a turkey
supper with all the trimmings. The
living room of their handsome home
was lovely with bouquets of flowers
and color schemes of gold and blue
were the dining room decorations. The
table was attractive with bowls of
roses, gold candles in silver contain-
ers and centered with the wedding
cake.
Pouring tea and serving the wed-
ding cake were their daughters, Mrs.
Gordon Davis, Toronto, and Mrs. Rus-
sell
ussell Love, Owen Sound.
Mr. and Mrs. McDonald, who are
exceptionally well known and who
have a wide circle of friends, were
born in Usborne and were married
by Rev. Joseph Cook, a former Meth-
odist minister 'of Hensall, the wedding
taking place at the home of the
bride's parents. They are active mem-
bers of Hensall ,United Church. Mr.
and Mrs. 'McDonald, are enjoying good
health, and Mr. McDonald who cele-
brated his 85th birthday recently is
able to .be out hoeing on his farm.
Members of their family inelude one
s'on, • Lloyd, at home, and two daugh-
ters, 'Mrs. Gordon Davis (Olive), 'To-
ronto;
To-
ronto; Mrs. Russell Love (Lulu), of
Owen Sound. Attending the annivers-
ary were Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Davis
and family, Toronto, and Mr. and Mrs.
Russel Love and little son of Owen
Sound.
Guests were present from Roches-
ter, N.Y., Regina, Sask., London, Exe-
ter, Mitchell, Seaforth, Hensall, To-
ronto and Owen Sound.
Anniversary services will be observ-
ed in St. Paul's Anglican •Church this
coming Sunday, June 8th. Speaker
for the morning service 'will be Can-
on Townsend, of London, and in the
evening Dr. Hurford, of Seaforth.
Special music by the choir.
Miss Gladys McKenzie was hostess
at her home Friday evening ,fast for
the Mission Circle May suppermeet-
ing, with 18 members present,. and
Miss Margaret Shepherd in,th.e chair.
Miss Mary Goodwin gave the opening
.prayer, followel With the motto; the
Scripture lesson by Miss June Saute
dercock. Miss Mary Clark gave a
missionary reading. Following the.
