Carter - Leyburne.—A very pretty
wedding was • solemnized on •Friday
evening last at the Rectory of St.
Thomas' Church at 7 p.m., when Mar-
garet Lillian. daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Simon Leyburne was united in
holy matrimony to Mr. Robert Roy
Carter, son of Mr. Isaac Carter and
the late Mre. Carter, of Clinton. The
ceremony was performed by Rev. R.
P. D. Hurford. They were attended
•by Mrs. Bruce McDougall, sister of
the groom, and Mr. William Leyburne,
brother of the groom. A delicious
buffet lunch was,• served to several
friends by Misses+ Hazel and Gladys
Earle, Muriel Wright and Jean Mc-
Dougall. Mr. and Mrs. Carter left on
a honeymoon trip to Kitchener and
will reside in Clinton.

Former Druggist Dies. --Prank H.
Walley, former Seaforth druggist,
died Thursday night after a brief ill-
ness at his home in St. Thomas. He
was 63 years of age. Surviving are
his wife and a daughter, .Mrs. Doro-
thy Roberts, Fort Erie.
Death of James Nash.—James Nash,
an esteemed life-long resident of Me-
Killop, died ow Wednesday on the
Nash homestead on the 3rd •conces-
sion, where his parents settled after
corning to this dietriet from Nova
Scotia and where he *as born. 73
years ago. After his marriage” twen-
tyi-nine years ago to Miss Mary Flan-
nery they settled on the E. C. Case
farm- in 'McKillop and later lived for
a short time on the farm now occu-
pied by A. Bayes in Tackersmith, re-
turning afterward to M•eKiliop. Sur-
viving are his widow and a family
of three, a daughter in British Colum-
bia and two sons at home. The fun-
eral will take place on Friday morn-
ing at 9.30 to St. James' Catholic
Church, interment to be made in St.
James•' cemetery. Rev. Father Hussey
will officiate.
Receive Attendance • Awards. — At
the Sabbatih school last Sunday morn-
ing in First Presbyterian Church," an
interesting event took place when •a
number of the scholars were present-
ed with guards, pins, diplomas,, certi-
ficnvtes and silver seals. Following
the regular Sunday' school serrice,.
Mr. M. McKellar. the -Superintendent,
presented the pupils with the awards.
and Rev, Hugh Jack spoke a few
words of encouragement to those who
had received pins and also to the
others. Those winning awards are as`

Death of Isaac Moore.—The death
occurred on Tuesday at his home in
Egmondville of Isaac Moore, a highly
esteemed • resident. His death follow-
ed a protracted illness. He was born
in Hibbert township and lived there
until his marriage to Miss Elizabeth
Patrick in 1893, when they moved to
a farm on the 8th concession of Tuck-
ersmith, retiring four years ago to tg-
mondville where they had since re-
sided. Mrs. Moore died in Toronte.
six weeks ago. He is survived by
four sons and one ,daughtei: Harvey
Moore, 'in Tuckersmith - Andrew
Moore,. Egmondville; • Robert Moore,
Hensall; Davis Moore, Toronto, and
Miss Annie Moore, at home. The fun-
eral took place on Thursday afternoon
at 2 p.m. from the Egmondville Unit-
ed Church of which he was a valued
member, interment taking place in
Staffs cemetery. Rev. A. W. Gard-
iner officiated.

The Late Miss Mary O'Reilly.—The
death occurred from pneumonia at
Scott Memorial. Hospital on Wednes-
day night of Mary O'Reilly, in het
S5th year. The departed woman was
born in McKillop •and came to Sea -
forth when a young woman to take •t
position as tailoress with the firm of
Bright -Bros., which she held for many
years. 'Miss O'Reilly was the last sur-
Vivor of a family of eight: She was
a devoted 'members of • St, James'.
Catholic Church and also of the Cath,
olic Women's League and the Society
of the Propagation of -the Faith. The
funeral took place Friday .morning at
9.30 ',o'clock from the residence of
her niece, Mrs. Julia Flannigan, Mar-
ket Street, to St. Jamesf Catholic
Church. Rev. T. P. Hussey officiat-
ed. During the Requiem Mass Miss
Julia Flannigan sang a hymn: The
pallbearers were' Messrs. Louis Row-
land, James Sloan, John Holland, Jos.
Kale, J. Ryan, and Lawrence Ryan.
Interment took place in St., James'
cemetery.

death 'of Edward Stubbs in Toronto
on Saturday. The departed man was

their twenty-fifth wedding annivers-
