C. W. L. Holds Meeting. -The C.
W. L. 'held their regular meeting
recently With Mrs. Wm. Devereaux
presiding. There was a large attend-
ance. Miss Alice Daly read a number
of correspondence items. During the
business period plians were made for
theasupper on the 17th of March, half
of the proceeds to go to the Red
Cross.
Died in Vancouver -Mrs. W. West-
cott received word this week af the,
death of her nephew, Mr. Harry Copp,
which occurred in; the hospital in
Vancouver on February 15th. Mr.
Copp had been in the hospital for
two years as the result of an acci-
dent when he fell, down stairs and
fractured hie back. Hise mother, for-
merly Miss Hattie Love, was on .the
Staff of the E, McFaul store in Sea -
forth for a number of yeah before
her marriage to Mr. John Copp, a
former well known builder and con-
tractoe of this tagru.

Northside Young People Meet -The
regular meeting was held on Tues-
day evening frith Jean Smale in the
chair. The were read by
Irene Workman. The play, "Window
Willows," will be presented by the
-Conetatece Young People's Society-, on
Tuesday, March 18th. Psalm 33 was
read responsively and Miss Isabel
Forrest took the prayer. Barbara
McLellan took - up the collection and.
Miss Jean Smale read a paper on
Major and Mrs. Ashby, missionaries
in Gold Coast, Africa, and a story en-
titled, "Her Offering," by Miss' H. 1.
Grah,ain was read. The meeting clos-
ed with a hymn and the Mizpah bene-
diction.

• Died in Calgary
The death occurred in a Calgary
hospital on February 24th of Hugh
Laidlaw, eldest seri of Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Laidiaw, of Climax; Sask. The
-late M1 Laidlaw was born in Tuck-
ersuata, but mowed to the Weat with
his aarents1 when a child. For a
number of years he taught school in
the Climax district. Although not in
the best of health for some-time;he
was not considered seriously 111 until
la short time before his death. He is
survived by his parents, four sisters
and one brether, all of Saskatchearaa,
also his grandfattb.er, Mr. John, Nich-
olson, of Seaforth.

Mrs. J. Hey, of Zurich, called at the
home of Mrs, Manson.
Mr. and Mrs. Paul Ducharme spent

Mrs. Thomas Johnston received the
sad news Of the death of her sister in
Michigan on Saturday
Mrs. Lang Foster has been ill. We
hope she may be feeling better soon.
Mr. and Mrs. Robert McBride are
busy Treptiring to move to Kippen.

The World's Day of Prayer was o.b-
served il;L the Blake Church on ,Friday
afternoon, Feb. 28th, with 25 ladies
present from Blake and Goshere Aux-
iliary. Mrs. Russel Erratt and Miss
Beatrice Manson: were in charge of
the program:- Prayers were offered
by Mesdames Ben Keyes, Henry Er-
ratt, McKinley, Peck, Armstrong, El-
more Stephenson, Percy Johnstone of
Goshen, and Miss Mary Johnston, of.
Blake. Scripture was given by Mrs.
B. Keyes, and Mrs.' Elmore Stephen-
son sang, "What a Friend We Have
in Jesus," accompanied by Mrs. Geo.
Anderson, which was very well ren-
dered. ThetMisses •O•esch sisters sang
two duets accompanied by Miss Nor-
ma Hey. Beatrice Manson gave the
topic, and the meeting closed, with the
benediction.

Duffs Church, McKillop, held its raeet-
ing on Saturday, March 1st, with , a
good attendance. The prograng open-
ed with a hymn, followed, by the
Lord's Prayer In -unison. The hyagn,
"Work For the Night is COraing" 'as
sung and Bill Hendersonaread' the
Scripture. Mrs. David -Shannon red
in prayer and Bible atoriea• ware told.
The meeting closed with -the behedle-
tion and lunch was served and a .so-
cial hour spent. •
The regular meeting df the W.M.S.,
W.A. and Day of Prayer of Duff's,
Church was held at the home of Mrs.
R. N. Dorrance on FridaY, Feb. 28th.
Mrs. Dorrance opened the meeting
ivith a hymn and prayer. The min-
'utes, were 'read and 'adopted; The
Day of Prayer program was followed
throughout, the ladies taking the
readings and prayers. During the W.
M.S. business period it was decided
that the Easter thaakoffering would
•be held at the home' of Mrs. Ross
Murdie in March. The meeting -clos-
ed with. "God Save the King" and
