furniture which she doesn't nee•d, al-

Her sons, Rev. James Gale, of Cale-
dionita; Robert of Elora; and Rev. and
Mrs. • Morley of Chatham attended and
assisted at the sale. They left on
Wednesday, taking the remainder. of
the furniture, as Mrs Gale intends to
live with her daughter, Mrs, Morley,
near Chatham.

and complications, were: held at the
home at half past bne,and at the Con-
gregational Church in this. city -i1t, 2

at the home, the church, and the cem-

he had associated for more than 57
years. John Dodds, was born in Sea -
forth, Ontario, Canada, -on October
15, 1863, and received his education
in the schools of that city and com-
munity. In the spring of 1382 at the
age of 19 years, he cable to what was
then the territory of Dakota as an
immigrant, arriving at Buffalo, Cass
County, on the 15thday of March,
and the following year came to what
wast then, Pater County and immed-
iately upon attaining his majority, fil-
ed on the homestead which has been

27, 1889, ,he was united in marriage to
Miss Lizzie' Agnes Miller at Buffalo
and the young couple at once came to
the homestead in Superior Township,
TO this union were born nine chil-
dren, all of whom, witlf his devoted
wife, survive: Helen (Mrs. Ward
Smith),, Homer, Mich.; Charles. Grand
Rapids, Allah.; Ada (Mrs. Jack Rosen-
berg), William, John, Jr., Leslie, New
Rockford; Agnes (Mrs. Berger Jen-
sen), Drake, this state; David, 'en the
farm, and Clifford, MeVille. All :the
children were present. at the obse-
quies with the exception of Helen and
Charles, wIlto were here for the family
reunion held on Sunday, May 260.1,.
He also leaves 12 grandchildren and
Seven brothers, the brothers being a
twin .baother, Jaines,- Swift Current,
Sask.; who was here for the funeral;
Peter, Aneroid, Sask.; Thomas, Seat-
tle, Wash.; Charles. Long Beach, Cali-
fornia; William, New Rockford; Geo.,
Meese Jaw, and Andrew, Swift Cur-
rent, Sask. Mr. and Mrs. Dodds cele-
brated' their 50th wedding annivers-
ary with a big family gathering here
Ion November 27, 1939. Coming to
Su,perior township in his youth, de-
ceased early took an active interest
in the civic affairs of his community,
taking, part in the organization of
Eddy !county and i.n, that of. his tewn-
ehip at 'a later,date. For five years
he served as .towndhip .aesessor; .as a
member of the .school and township
boards; and! for some time as cern-
missiblier from bhe First Commission-
er District. Ile was a charter mem-
ber of the Ancient .Order of United
Workmen and of Century, Lodge, No.,
60, A.F. & A.M. A good man and
true ham gone on in, the persion of
Jahn Dodds. A "devoted husband! antl
farther, a loyal friend, a good neigh-
bor going about quietly and unobtru-
sively to do those geed deeds which
becomes a good, Obritsiaa character,
his presence is going to be missed by
many of elven the younger people,
while the pieneers will feel that an-
other one of Meer number of an out-
standing character has been taken
from theme' Mr. Dodds was a bro-
ther of the late Robert Dodds, of
ELsimpurhey, and Was a cousin of Mr.
Thelmas Dodds, of McKillop.

parking on Saturday nights for the balance of the
Summer. Shoppers and visitors are welcome to use
these parking facilities and avoid congestion on
Main Street.
