Dies in Toronto.—Word has been
received in town of the death of
Robina. Bremner Barton, widow of T.
K. Anderson, of 696 Straw St., Toron-
to, in her 83rd year. The deceased's
husband was a brother of the late
Mm. W. It. Seattle Two daughters,
Misses Ida and Mae Anderson, sur-
vive her, and live in Toronto. Inter-
ment took place in Grove Cemetery,
Du:ndras, on Monday after'aoan.
Former Resident J. R. Wright, Dies
in Toronto: --James R. Wright, who at
the age of 16 years fought in the Fen-
ian Raid, as a private in the same
regiment as his father, who was a
officer, died August 13th at his home,
225 Cottingham St-, Toronto, in his
89th year. Born in Friction, Ont., he
was a son of '3. F. Grant, who was a
magistrate and who conducted a gen-
enal store 'business in that town.'Mr.
and Mrs. J. F. Wright came from
England and were among the early

September meeting of the W, M. S.

Thursday in charge of Mr's. H. V.
Woakmann, and was opened by sing-
ing Hymn 240, "God Our Help in
Ages Past," followed by prayer. The
minutes and reports were read. A
good attendance answered the roll

ture lesson, tihn'ee passages from the
Pioneer Prophet Amos, who proclaim-
ed' Gotta message to the people seven
centuries before the comipg of Christ,
Surely we live in a day very like that
in which Atmos spoke these great
words. Mrs, J. McIntosh led in bhi'
,lwrogram,, leading us to our "frontiers
of service" ie our home and commun-
4'tiea. The program was a ,review of
the work of the W.M,S, in 1938-39
and a preview giving a glimpse ahead
of those paths of service with which
we are to become more familiar in
1939.40. The W.M.S. may help to

where the principles of Jesus, the

will be demonstrated in acts of bro-
therhood in the home, in the church,
in the community, an all life. The
