The Mother's Day program was fol-
lowed in Turner's Church on Sunday
last with the mother's choir officiat-
ing and Rev. G. Burton as speaker. A
baptismal service was also conducted
when Miss Ruth Christina Brown,
Miss Dorothy Elizabeth Townsend,
Miss Dorothy Roberta Parsons, Miss
Margaret Grace Parsons, Master Clay-
ton Alexander Parsons and Master
John Albert Parsons •were baptized.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Wise and Mr.
and Mrs. F. Townsend visited the la-
dles' parents in Dorchester on' Sun-
day.
Mr. and Mrs, Wilmer Wallis, Clin-
ton, and Miss Una Douglas, of Strass-
burg, Sask., visited with Mr. and Mrs.
J. Turner on Sunday.

in Looby's.Hall on Friday night with
Mack Burgess" orchestra, Mitchell,
furnishing music. The lucky door

At a meeting of the Holy Name So-
ciety, William Stapleton and William
Manley were appointed delegates to
the Holy Name Society Provincial
Convention, to take place in Toronto
in June.
A progressive euchre was held in
the parish hall, sponsored by the
Young Ladies' Sodality. Following
the games, lunch was served by the

spending a month with her uncle, Jno.

News was flashed over tire wires on
Saturday night of the death of Mr.
Heavy Hiilebrecbt, of Brodhagen, in
his 81st year. He had been in fail-
ing health for some time, but had re-
covered enough to be around. Two
weeks ago be had an attack of the
fine from which he did not recover.
He was of a genial disposition and
his wise counsel was always accept-
ed- He was a successful farmer and
lived here all his life. The funeral
took place on Tuesday from' SL Pet-
er's
eter's Lutheran Church and the remains
were laid to rest in the adjoining
cemetery. A large concourse of
friends and neighbors attended the
service. Besides bis wife he is sur-
vived by three sons and one daugh-
ter, John. Huron Road East, Seaforth;
and Henry anti Norman at ,home; and
Mrs_ George Stoskopf, of F ullarton
Townshlip; one stepbrother, Louis, of
Brodhagen, and two sisters, Mrs. Aug-
ust Shellenberger of Mitchell, and
Mrs. Fred Deitz, of Brodhagen, who
have the sympathy of the community
in this their hour of sad• affictioir.
We are pleased to learn that Mas-
ter Joe McKay is progressing well
with his broken arm, but Mrs. T. Mc-
Kay is still suffering with an infec-
tion in her foot,

Mr. William Daniels of Hen_sall, a
retired po tman of Brantford. while
visiting in Brantford, apparently walk-
ed it -,o the side of a truck on Col-
borne St.. at the junction with Brant
Ave., was knocked down and suffer-
ed a fracture of the left hip. He wan
taken to the hospital by the driver
of the t: uo k (:ales Suddaby. He was
accompa rind by his wife.
Funeralof Andrew. Boa
The funeral of the late Andrew Boa
whose sudden death in big 18th year
was a great shock to the community,
was held on Thursday afternoon from
the home of Mr. and Mrs. George
Sinale, of Hensail, and was conducted
by Rev. W. A. Young of Carmel Pres-
byterian Church, with interment in
McTaggart's cemetery. The pallbear-
ers were William. Roy, Thomas and
Alvin Smale, cousins of the deceas-
ed. and Otto Stephan and Lloyd Mc-
Donald- Attending from a distance
were the deceased's uncle,' Rev. An-
drew Boa, of Norwich. arid sister,
Eva, from Detroit. The floral tributes
were beautiful.

Churches Observe Mother's Day
Herman celebrated Mother's Day on
Sunday, May 14th, with large caongre-
ga•tionis 'present at local churches. At
the United Chin'c'h Sunday morning
the church was filled to capacity with
part of the centre section reserved
'for the Sunday school scholars and
their teachers, and a special baptis-
mal service arranged and conducted
by the pastor, Rev. 11. A. Brooksenthe
following babies being baptized: Pa-
tricia 'Margaret, daughter of Dr. and
Mrs. D. G. Steer; Donald George Alva,
son of Mr_ and Mrs. George Jackson;
Wham Herbert, son of Mr. wad Mrs.
Ken Ifcks; Judith Ann, daughter of
Reeve and Mrs. E, Shad -dick; Carolyn
Eliiiabeth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Bert Faber; Kathryn Grace, daughter
of Mr. e.nd Mrs. Stone.. The pastor
chose for his morning theme, "The
Glory of the Nation.." The responsive
readings and hymns were presided
over by Messrs. Edison Forrest and
Clarence Smillie, officers of the Sun-
day School- A children's choir sang
very pleasingly, "Write a Letter To
Your Mother," which was directed by
Mrs. E. I. Mickle and Miss M. Ellis,
with Miss Greta Lranlsnie, organist, at
the organ; story, "The Room of Gold"
was very ably given by Miss Elva
McQueen and the morning anthem by
the choir was "Little Mother of
Mine`" At the evening service the
subject discussed was "A Mather's
Wages" and the ehoir anthem, "To
Serve My Mother's God."
Carmel Rresbytea-ian Church was
filled to overflowing on Sunday morn-
ing for the special Mother's Day ser-
vices. Rev. W. A. Young, pastor,
preached at both services and special
references were made to Mother's
Day. Men W. A. Young sang a very
appropriate solo, "When Yon Come to
the End of the Way"; the morning
ani by:the choir, "Seek Ye the
Lord," acMtet, Rev. W. A. Young_
Baptismal service was held with the
infant tougher of Mr. and ears. Geo.
MOO 'being baptiize& The evening
anthem by the choir -was "God of
Hope."
At St. Pawl's Anglican Church Holy

9.30 aim. and conducted by Rev. W.
A. Hunt. Baptismal service was held
at 6.30 pan., followed by the regular
service at 7 p.m- Babies baptized
were the three children of Mr. and
Mrs- Thos. Lavender; Barbara, daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Valley,
and infant son of Mr. and Mrs- Map -
pelt The choir rendered special mus-
