The president, Pan- sy Adams, opened the meeting and the hymn, "Blest Be the Tie That Binds" was sung. The minutes were read arid the roll called by the secre- tary. During the business period.. Haz- el McLaehlan invited the group to her home for the next meeting on June 5th and the project was tb be the number of letters in the word 'Egmondville.' Carberte-A well known and highly esteemed resident of Seeforth for teeny Years, passed away in Scott Memorial Hospital on Thursday morning, in the person of Mrs. T. Cerbcrt. Some weeks ago Mrs.'Caarbert suffered a severe attack of the flu, which developed into other eumeli-catdon4 ,nieceselitating her re- moval to the hospital last week. She is survived by a family of one son and two daughters, Mr. Joseph Car - belt and Mrs. Thieson, of Detroit, and Mns. George Holland. of Dublin. Goforth Band Meets. -The Goforth Mission Band held their"regular meet- ing•- on. Mouday, May 1st. The meet- ing was opened by singing Hymn 726, after which the Lord's Prayer was re- peated. The 'minutes of the last meeting were read and the roll was called,. After the business of the meet- ing was discussed Barbara Sproat took the chair for the devotional per- iod. Hymn 399 was sung, followed by the Scripture reading read by Doris Venus. Jean McMaster gave a spring time message, followed by the mis- sionary talk by Mrs: D. H. Wilson. Sen- tence prayers were read by Lenore Iiabkirk, Louise Case and Jean Mc- Master. Mica Janet Chuff read a story ' and the meeting closed with the singing of the benediction. She wore a floor -length empire tyle 'peach net over peach taffeta with blue velvet bows et neck and on the skirt, blue gloves, head cover- ing of blue net with blue forget-me- nots centred with a Talisman rose. The bridegroom w'a's attended by his brother, Mr. Alfred Enzenberger. Mrs. Francis S. Sills, mother of the bride, was becomingly gowned in a long chartreuse colored dress, picture hat in Tahiti blue with pleated veiling in royal orchid with chartreuse match- ing accessories in Tahiti blue and peach corsage. The mother of the bridegroom wore a navy white print- ed crepe ensemble with corsage,,,,in pink, that in black with fuohia and blacleaccessories. Following the cere- mony a buffet breakfast was -served at the home of the bride's parents to isome fifty guests. The going -away costume of the bride was a spring- time box coat over pink silk dress in blue springtime and white tones, tur- ban, clogs and bag in Queen's blue. Out-of-town guests were present from Brighton, Michigan, Lincoln Park, De- troit, Sandwich, Ont,, Toronto, Barrie and St. Marys. Mission Band Meets. •- The Alert Mission Band held their Easter thank - offering meeting ou Tuesday in the Sunday school room of the church with the president, Edna Gallop in the chair:, 'Some of the mothers were present. After staging "Can a Little Child Like Me," Mrs. Barber led in prayer; followed by the Lord's Prayer in unison. Donald McKenzie read the Scripture and Edna Gallop sang a solo, "What a Friend We Have in Jesus." After the roll call, Donald and Jcihn Robert McKenzie played a duet on the piano. Harold, Knight gave a recitation; Harriet Russell played' a number on the piano and Barbara Russell sarig a solo, "Early One Mei-lldng"; Betty' Weedmark gave a recitation. Mrs. Ross Savauge was the guest speaker and told the chil- dren a very interesting story. Gwen- dolyn Christie• sang "Jesus Wants Me For a Sunbeam." The meeting clos- ed with the hyrnn, "Mothers of Sal- em." After the benediction candy was passed and enjoyed by all. Enzenberger Sills. -A very pretty spring 'wedding was soletmnized on Saturday morning, April 29th, at 10 o'clock in St. James" Catholic Church, Seaforth, when Nora. Monica, only daughter of SMI', and Mrs. Francis Shea Sills, John Street, was united in marriage to Mr. Henry Euzenberger,son of Mrs. Enzeu'pprrger, Detroit. and the late Joseph T 1senhe.:ger. The altars were 'beautifully decorated with Eas- ter lilies and pink sgapdragon. As the bridal party entered the church the wedding berth from Lohengrin was snag by • Miss Dorothy O'Connell, ac• courpanied by Mrs. B. O'Connell, aunt of the bride. Nuptial mass was celebrated by a cousin of the bride, Rev. Charles Armstrong, C.B.S., As- sunmption College, Sandwich, Ont., the double ring marriage ceromone being performed by Itev, T. P. Hussey, P.P. Music from Rosenvigs Maes was sung by relatives of the bride, congrega- tional style, accompanied by the or- ganist, Mrs. Frank Devereaux, aunt of the bride. During the signing of the register, Grieg's "I Love You" was also sung -by a brother of the bride, Mr. Frank, Sills, Jr. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore a lovely gown of marquisette Sodality DANCE - in --- 'D' `D' Co.
