Abet 10.30 Mr. and Mrs. lVfont,
eparnery retired. He went right to
sleep and atter a short nap was
awakened when ane of the ehildren
sleeping in the same room with him
called. He took him into bed with
him and was not awakened again un-
til about 1.30 am., when he beards a
noise.
"It wasn't sereaming. She just
seemed to be calling 'Ohl Ohl' " he
said.
Running from the room he found
his wife was not in .bed. When, he
looked upstairs he saw a bright light.
He grabbed up a pail of water and ran
upstairs and found his wife on an old
mattress with flames all around her
about two feet htgh. There was quite
a bit of smoke, he said. In all he
threw feur pails of water on the fire.
"I asked her 'What happened, deer;
and she said, 'I don't know.' Then I
asked her how are you feeLing, and
she said- 'fine'."
Mr. Montgomery described going for
neighbors and then bringing his wife
dovrnstaitts and waiting for the doc-

matches when they had eoccasion to
