Former Resident Dies in Lindsay.-- Word indsay.-Word. has been received of the death at ter residence, 46 William Street South, Lindsay, on March 30th, of Clara Margaret Elliott, y=oungest daughter of the late William Elliott, for many yearstown clerk of Se' forth, Miss Elliott, who was born in Eg- mondville and was educated at the Seaforth Collegiate Institute, possess- ed of an attractive personality she was popular in the community. ;The family who were very highly eetee'm- ed, moved to Owen Sound a number of years ago and later after the death of her parents to Hamilton. For the past few years she and her brother, Richard, have been living in Lindeny. Surviving are two brothers; William Elliott of the Governm•eat Experimen- tal Farms Olds, Alberta, and Richard, in Lindsay. A brother, Dr. Joh3i T. Elliott, Rhinelander, Wis., and two sisters, Grace and Bessie, predeceas- ed her. interment took place Monday in Mount View Cemetery, Galt. Death of Mrs. George Stewart -The sudden death of Mrs. George Stewart, of the Huron Road West, took place on Wednesday, April 5th. Mrs. Stew - 'art was formerly Miss Annie Cud - more, and was married in 1885 ,and went West to live, returning several years ago to Live in, Harpurhey. 'She was born in K'ippen- Mrs. Stewart, .lead not been in the best of health for a number of years, bat was always able to be about the house. As she entered the bedroom on Wednesday she felil over and passed away immed- iately. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and two sons, Sherman Stewart, Gr ystul City; Man., and W. M. Stewart, of Seaforth, and one daughter, Mns. Hyslop, of Dakota; al- so four brothers, E. Gudavore, Van - mover, B: C.; Lorne, Calgary; Wil-. Islam and Sam, of Seaforth, and, five sisters, Mrs. D. Watson, Calgary; Mrs. Lew Horton, Hensel]; Mrs. Ed. Daley, Walkerton; Mrs. T. Workman, Kip - pen, and Mee Mary Harvey, of Kip - pen. She was a member of Northside United Church, Seaforth. A private funeral will be held on Friday, April 7th, with interment in Baird's ceme- tery. Rev. H. V. Workman will offei- ate. Ile was, a son of the late Daniel Shaualean and Eliz- abeth Scanlon and was born in Hul-' lett April 9, 1858:; He attended the public school of his home section and on the 24th of November, 1884, mar- rien Annie McIntosh. They farmed in Hullett. John Shanahan was a lover of good stock and always kept fine ,horses on his farm- He was an honor- ary past president of the Centra] Hur- on Agricultural Society and was for many years one of thy' leading durec- tors of the Clinton Spring Stock Show, sponsored by that society. There survive his rife, the former Annie McIntosh, tour sons, Charles D., Clinton; Joseph, Mai' Death of Mrs. Richard Webb. -The death took place in Hamilton General Hoswpital of Helen Thompson, wife of the late Riohard Webb, on Sunday ev- ening last. Mrs. Webb was the daugh- ter o2 the late Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson of McKillop, anal resided here after her marriage for a time and then went to Hamilton, where she liv- ed until the death of her husband in May of last year. She was married in 1288. She is survived by ane daugh- ter, Mrs. Free, of Toronto, with whom she had: been. lining; also three sit- ters, Miss E•l,liabeth Thompson and Mrs. T. G. Scott, Seaforth, and Mrs. Smythe, of Vancouver, and three bro- thers, rathers, Beattie and Harry, of Vancou- ver, and W. P. Tbompsolh, ,'of;, Tueker- smith. Interment was made .in Wing - barn cemetery. Among those wiho at- tended the funeral were Mr. and Ma's., Free and three children and MISS Kerr, of Toronto; Mr, and Mrs, John Webb of Hamilton; and Mr. Marlette, of Hamilton. Death of Mrs. Peter Bale. -An es- teemed resident passed away on Tues- day, April 4th, In Soott Memorial Hos- pital following an illness 'of some months in the person of Margaret Jane Brewster, wife of Peter Bale, in her fiftyfith year. Mrs. Bale had pre- viously undergone an operation in the London hospital in the hope that it would prolong her life. She was born in McKillop, being the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs, James Brew- ster of Winthrop. About twelve years ago she was married to Peter Bale. They lived in' Detroit for a time re- turning to Winthrop some years later and carne to reside in Seaforth about two years ago. They had no fancily. Surviving are ,her husband, one bra then, J. Brewster, on the old home- stead in McKillop, and a sister, Mas. John Taylor, in Tuckersmith. ', 3721-2 Death of Mrs. William Trott. -The death occurred very suddenly of a highly esteemned resident of hinds 'Lawn on Sunday, April 2nd, of Emma Wright, beloved wife of Mr. William Trott, in her 65th Year. Mrs. Trott hatietioit been able to leave her home for Many years, but was always able to do her own work, but on Sunday complained of not being well and suf- fered a stroke, passing away shortly afterwards. She was. born in McKil- lop, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Jno. Wright and was married in 1899 to Mr. William Trott, who survives, to- gether with two sons, Messrs, Clifford and Clarence,and one daughter, Mrs. William MacKay; also two. sisters, Mrs. Harry Bowen, Blyth, and Mrs. Jacob Whiting, Cardiff, Sask., and one brother, Wesley Wright, Sussex, Eng- land. Mrs. Trott went to school in McKillop and was a member of North side United Clrurcah, The funeral took place on Tuesday from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. MacKay, High Street, with Rev. H. V. Workman of- ficiating. The pallbearers were Al- lan Reid, J. A. Westcott, John' J. Chuff, Robert Joynt, Ed. Mole and Robert Pinkney, Among those who attended the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Harry Bowen, Blytah; °Mr. and Mrs. Charles Priddle-and son, James, and Mr. and Mrs. John Hearne, 'Pildson- burg; Mrs; Wm.
