A'few odd sounds accompany the
new course of study, but • (he strang-
est sounds come from the shop. Pupils
are engrossed! in Algebra, Latin,
French or other subjects when sud-
denly a wailing sound drifts through
the halls. At first it sounds as if -
someone was stepping on a cat's tail,
but the sound is too loud and angry'
for that. It sounds like a cat and dog
fight, but w hen the sound is traced
down it is found to be thre circular
saw ripping through Iseavy 'planking.
Another strange sound and one rarely
heard, is that of a, pupil asking a
teacher if he may stay after four to
receive special instruction.

The fallowing is a (mystery story:
Friday night was the night of the
school At -Home do Exeter and a num-
ber of S.C.I. studdents attended. Now
it is well known that Exeter is a very
short distance from Seaforth and no

20 miles. Despite this, however, three
S.C.I. students started for the da!n.ce
at Exeter and arrived very late, the
surprising• part being that they drove
75 miles to reach Exeter. A story is
told about a man. thoroughly bemud-
dled who got onto ,a race track and
drove all night and Willey be that a
•similar fate happened these boys, or
perhaps they have a better explana•
tion. At any rate it needs to be good.
The Exeter school dance was'a big
,spcoess and they had the largest
crowd of any of the school dances yet.
This is the second school dance for
Exeter this year, and it was attended'
by pupils from Exeter, Seaforth:, Clin-
ton, God ericb,sa11; Mitchell, Lon-
