Alert Mission Band Meets. - The
regular meeting of tee Alert Miseion
Bane of Northside United Church was
held on Tuesday and was opened by
singing a hymn and the Lord's prayer
in unison. The regular' meeting of
the Band was dispensed with and all
enjoyed a work meeting. The amus-
ing little roes constructed are to be
sent away with a bale to needy chil-
dren at Gypsonville Home.
Wins At Royal Winter Fair. -Bar-
on Lulwater, owned by Mr. W. C.
Govenlook, of Egraoneville, won the
first prize and Reserve Championship
in the Standard Bred Stallion classat
the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto
east week.- On the same day he was
in the show ring, bis colt, Baron
Ro,ttlrobild, won the third heat nu the
fourteen class at Dufferinrace track
in, T.14, which was the fastest heat
in the race.
Dies in Toronto. -The death occur-
red in Toronto on November 24th of
Mary Sheelah Reynolds, in, her 27th
year, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A J.
Reynolde. A granddaughter of Mr.
Gee A. Sills, or'Seaforth, ,she was
well known and popular here, 'where
she was a frequent visitor. The late
Miss Reynolds was a graduate of the
University of Toronto and was an
accomplished musician. Her death
occurred very suddenly from pneu-:
uremia following a short illness. .

Dies in Goderich. - Mrs. August
Guhr died suddenly about 11 o'clock
on Sunday night at her home on -Que-
bec Street, G-oderich, in her 64th year.
Mrs. Greer was enjoyin,g good health
until five days ago when she was
stricken with pezalysis while she was
ironing some household linens. She
was formerly Miss' Annie Claussius,
and was born in Zurich. daughter of
the late Mr. and Mrs. John 'Claussius.
After her marriage in 1894, see lived
in Seaforth, Brussels and Exeter, gre
Mg to Goderich in 1918 with her hus-
band, who is well known as a con-
tractor. She was a Lutheran all her
life. Besides her husband, she is sue
vived by a daughter, Miss Pearl, who
is at home, and a brother, George'
Clauselue. The feneral took place in
Zurich on Wednesday.

ding was solemnised!' at noon Satur-
day at First Presbyterian' Manse by

thur became the bride of William
Perthick son of Mr. and Mrs.
Wim , Miller, of town. The bride look-
ed lovely in a wine velvet dress and
accessiosies to. match. She wore a
shoulder corsage of baby mums. Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Eisler supported: the
young couple. Following the cere-
mony dinner was served to twenty-
five guests. The table colors were
white and pink, centered with a large
fouestory wedding cake. The young

was solemnized in St. Giles' Churoh,
Hemillton, eti Wednesday afternoon,

late Mr. Henry Amos, and Hugh Les-
lie, youngest son of Mr. Robert Mc-
Kay and the late Mrs. McKay, of Eg-

ding was solemnized at the Egmond
ville United Manse on Tuesday at 11
o'clock, when Helen Margaret, emend
daughter of Mr. William Thompson,

Thompson. was united in marriage to
Alexander Forsyth Cheeney, eldest
son of Mr. card Mrs. Harry Obesney,
else of Tuckersmith. They were at-
tendee by Miss Mona McGregor,
friend of the bride ,and Mr. McLel-
lan Chesney, brother of the bride-
groom. The bride was becomingly
dressed in a long gown of midnight.

Y.P.S. was held on. Wednesday even-
ing of this week. The meeting open-
ed with the president, Edith Wallace,
In the chair. A hynan was sung, ,min
utes of last meeting were read and
the offering was received. The wor-
ship service was conducted by Isabel
Forest, Hazel McLachlan and. James
Braadfoot The miseionary period
was taken by Grace Wallaee. A
hymn was sung and a contest by
Harold Finnigan, was much enjoyed.
Games were played and the meeting
closed by repeating the Mizpah. bene-

in charge. The, meeting opened with
the hymn, "Stand Up, Stand Up• For
Jesus." Elizabeth Aikenhead, read
the Seripture lesson, Doris Dutor led
in prayer and the hynati, "Faith Of
Our Fathers" was sung The topic,
based on an article by Henry Emer-
son Fosdick," entitled, "God, an Ideal
that never stoper growing," was pre-
pared by Margaret Henry and read
by Doreen Pepper. This was follow-
ed by an interesting discussion, and
the business period. The meeting
closed web a hymn and th.e„,benedic-
tion. Doris Dutot is preparing the
meeting for next week.
There has been, an appeal made to
the congregation and community from
the dried out area in the West for
clothing, bedding, books and mega-
zites. The bale will be packed in
the sch,00l room of the church on
December 14th. All paresis can be

ful in bringing home a deer.

The Golden Links Miseion Band
(held a very. succesisful social in the
basement of the church recently.
While there was not as large an at-
tendance as the leaders would have
liked to see, a pleasant and profit-
able evening 'was spent. The meet-
ing open•ed with Miss Edith Britton
in the chair. A hymn was sung and
Rev. Hugh Jack offered prayer. Mise
