Death of •Miss Agnes McConnell. -
On Tuesday morning Miss Agnes Rae
McConnell passed away at the Thome
of her sister, Mrs. R. H. Modeland,
in Tuckersmith. Miss McConnell came
here three years ago from Siheldon,
N. D., where she Iived for a number
of years. Sire had been blind for sev-
en years and had been ill only since
Thursday last. Miss McConnell was
the eldest child of the, late William
McConnell and was' born on the Mill
Road, 2nd concession. -of Tuckersmith.
She went to school in Egmondville
and Harpurbey. The funeral took
place Thursday afternoon from the
residence of Mr. R. H. Modeland with
interment in Egmondviile cemetery.
The pallbearers were Messri.leshiliam
Irvine, Wm. J. Finpigan, Richard
Kruse, John Quail, Robert Strong and
Roy McGeoch, Rev. A. W. Gardiner
officiated. Among those who attend-
ed the funeral were: Mrs. W. T.
Modeland, Mr. and Mrs. C. V. Wal-
ters, Mr, and Mrs. R. Modeland, and
Mrs. E. Reid, London_

Diedin Hamilton Hospital. - The
Grimsby Independent of June 30th,
makes the following reference to tee
death of a former resident of Sea -
forth and one who was well known
in this town and vicinity: "A rest -
dent of Grimsby for the past thirty
years passed away in Hamilton Gen-
eral Hospital on Friday morning last
in the person of Charlotte Isobel
Best, wife of Henry Hillier, following
an illness of several years duration.
The late Mrs. Hillier, who was in her
5Sth year, was born at Seaforth, on
Dec. 17, 1881, a daughter of the late
Francis Best and Charlotte Hinchley.
Following her marriage she came with®
her husband to Grimsby to reside and
until the time of her illness took an
active part in church work and var-
ious organizations. She was a mem-
ber of St. Andrew's Anglican Church
and a valued member of St. An-
drew's W. A., as well as AIexina Re-
bekah Lodge and Lipcoln Loyalist
Chapter. I.O.D.E. Surviving besides
her husband are one son, Robert, of
Grimsby, and one daughter, Dorothy,
Mrs. Lester Phipps, of Toronto. A
sister, Mrs. Norman McPherson, of
Los,,•, Angeles, Cal., also Survives. In-
terment was made in St. Andrew's
church yard."
Boswell - Chidley.-Emmanuel Col-
lege, Toronto, was the setting for a
picturesque wedding Saturday after-
noon when Mary Louise Chidley,
daughter of Mrs. Thomas Jackson
and the late Joseph Chidley, became
the bride of Edward Campbell Bos-
well, of Seaforth, son of the late Mr.
and Mrs. John Edward Boswell, of
Toronto. Rev. Murray Chidley, df
Cookeville, officiated, with Margaret
Sisley at the organ. Blue 'delphinium,
pink carnations and palms decorated
the church. The bride, given in mar-
riage by her brother, Thomas Jack-
son, wore a seen pink crepe dress in
tailored style with jacket, a large
larkspur blue felt hat, blue shoes, and
carried blue and pink cornflowers.
The bride was attended by her sister,
Pith_ Jackson, whose gown was of
turfuoise bluecrepe with smart white
turban and carried white stocks. The
groom was attended by his brother,
H. G. Boswell, of New York, and ush-
ers were Leonard Buchanan and Wm.
J. Jackson.... the bride's brother. A
small reception followed at the home
of the bride's mother, who wore a
gown of black sheer with white ac-
cessories, a black hat and corsage of
red roses. The couple left later on
a three weeks' trip to California, the
bride travelling in a modish suit of
navy with fine pale blue stripe, a
powder blue blouse and navy pleated
crepe turban. The couple will reside
in Seaforth, where Mr. Boswell is
manager of the Dominion Bank. Out-
of-town guests included Canon and
Mrs. Smith, of Trenton; Mrs. H. A.
Bright, of Winnipeg; Mr. and Mrs. J.
A. Constantine, of Brampton; Mr. and
Mrs. W. H. J, Brown, of Montreal.
