little pleasure left for a man who
wants to step out with a lady friend
taocasionally. If that is done there is
. always a few who want to throw a
monkey wrench in the machinerYand
mese thieqy up. Really it 'is more
than humiliating do have such things
bappen—but -they do just the same.
I know your country is Jaw abiding.
SO far you've not fallen under the
blight of the parlor pinks or the vio-
lent Reds and for that you should be
-truly thankful. A plague of grass-
hoppers is a mere flea bite in com-
parison with the Reds. Take it atm
elle, that outfit can stir up plenty of
devilment, and that in a very short
- time.
But to get back to my precarious
predicament. I have done just about
*verything psible to bold my job,
and still there are nonce who think
I shouldbe placed on the shelf. I ob-
ject to having my playthings taken
from me after the manner used by
Corporal Adolph when he grabbed the
.tholdings of Otto of the Habsburgs
• and his mother,Zitta. My gosh!
that's going a little ,bit too far. Still,
that's the way Adolph does things.
He might be bought off by giving him
a slice of the oil ane •other minerals
-we have, but I doubt if even :that
would satisfy him. lie—Adolph—
seems bent oa getting a strangehold
on bath Hungary and Rumania • and
unless something happens to prevent
it right soon, you'll see the Swastika
flag floating over more places than
Austria. Such being the case I daun
aelp being nervous and it is to es -
,cape any further trouble that I am
eppealing to you.
As near as I can -sum up the situa-
tion it is just this. If I go to Russia
Mr. Stalin would sic the Ogpu on me.
If I go to China, I've got to learn to
eat rice with chop sticks. Spain is
.-eput because Franco doesn't care
where his fliers drop their bombs,or
,wtho they hit. I don't care for Japan
because the army clique runs things
their way •and believe their emperor
is of divine origin—which we both
&now to be the bank Mexico might
,be alright, but Trotsky keeps open
house down there and I fear he would
corrupt my morals or get me in bad
with Joe Djugastivili down Moscow
way. And it's a well known fact you
.can't monkey with the "Iron Man."
Joe doesn't think anything at all
about rubbing out a few hundred hu-
man beings. It seems he thriven on
bloodletting.
So.—that lea.ves just two places
-where a man can feel safe. 1 might
go to the United States, but they've
got something like eleven million un-
employed down there and the chances
of finding a job would be very slim
l'm sure. Canada seems to me to be
the best bet.
Should your reply be favorable, I
arrange my affadre and leave here
immediately.
Uneasily yours,
Carol Von Hohenzollern.
There was a pause 'while a death-
like silence gripped the assembly,. At
last President Sills rose to his feet.
"Gentlemen," he said, "what is your
lileasure?"
"My goodness!" exclaimed •Uncle
Johnnie Sproat, "another one! Willy
tag my cats' if this thing keeps up
Seaforth won't have any room for the
regular touristal First off We get a
corporal, an' now, by cracky, it's
something else. Boys, I think we'd
better make both Adolph an' Carol
put up bond to keep the peace before
we let 'era settle in ,hese parts."
As Mm. Sweat seated himself, sev-
eral members 'jumned. to their feet
and for Seireral moments arguments
flew back and forth. At last cooler
heads prenailed and the question, was
duly referred to the city council.

Mit Dunuell referred to the &ow,
inn Popularity -of juvenile, Midget and
bantam hookey, and .expressedthe
opinion. tntit -atitletie associations',
such ,as the Seaforth association, had
a •great opportunity to develop and
train young athletes.
Al. Murray, of the -New York Amer-
icans, in his ennsens enlarged upon
thii opinions expressed! by •a previous
speaker, Mr. Stewart, and applied
thane opinions to professional eport.
He emPllasized • the importance of
clean living ley perforniers in any line
of, &poet, and -"el:teal instances where
the 'careers- of promising athletes had
been, rained by failure to keep in con-
dition!. He particularly stressed the
fact that all good teams came from
good:juniors and juveniles.
"If 'an association wants winning
teaMs, it must pay attention tp the -
young lads first and.. give them a
chance. You will" have much better
hockey and other things than you
have to -day," he said.
A proposal by Frank Sills, that the
managers of the Dublin, St. Colum -
ban, Londesboro, Winthrop, Egmand-
rifle, Kinburn and Kippen hockey
clubs' be added to the executive re-
sulted In considerable discussion:. Al-
though the proposal was .voted down,
the executive was empoweced to add
to its raminer, by virtue of a motion
sponsored by H. G. Meir. Mr. Meir
also extended a vote of thanks to the
guests of the evening from Stratford.
