The regular Monthly meeting of Sts
Thomas' Church 'W. A. met on Tues-
day of this week at the residence of
Miss Pinkney. ' Mrs, Hurford, thepresadent,
prestident, wae in the ebar, and fifteen
members ansWered the roll call. The
meeting opened with a hymn, "From
Ocean Unto Ocean," after.- which the
president read, the Scripture lesson.
Then followed the Litany- and Mem-
bens' prayer. After the completion of
routine business, Miss Holmes read
an interesting article on "rue History
end Spirit of Dorcas" and the begin-
ning of missionary work. The meet-
ing closed with the benediction, when
Miss Pinkney 'Served refreshments,
and an enjoyable half-hour was spent.

Death of Frank O'Hara. - Frank
O'Hara stied Til Scott Memorial Hos-
pital Monday night from', pneunionia,
in big 70th year. He was a life-long
resident of McKillop Township, with
the exception of a few years spent in
Michigan. Mn: O'Hara was a mem-
ber of St. Cohanban' Roman' Catholic
Church. Surviving is a brother, Brian
O'Hara, McKillop. The funeral was
held on Wednesday from the home of
Mrs. E. Rowland, McKillop, to St.
James' Catholic (3hurch, Seaforth. In-
terment was made in St- James' cem-
etery.
Goforth Mission Band Meets.' -The
Goforth Mission Band held a special
Easter meeting Monday -afternoon.
After singing "From Green -land's Icy
Mountains," prayer was offered by
Joan McMaster. The Scripture read-
ing, Luke 24:1-9, was read by Doris
Venus. Peggy Willis gave a recite-,
tion, "A Little Girl's Story." and the
auneuncements were read by Mrs..H. E.
Smith, one of these being about the
Mission Band Rally to be held in. Bel -
grave on April 30th. Then, lantern
slides. were shown on "Happy Days
in India," the lecturette being given
by Mists Janet Cluff. Four girls sang
an Easter song, "He Lives," and the
collection was received, the collectors
being. Lenore Habkirk and Marjorie
McKenzie, $2.35 being received.. "A
hymn, "Jesus HMS Us Shine" was
sung, and the meeting closed with the
Lord's Prayer.
Y. P. S. Meets. -The regular week-
ly meeting of the Joint Young Peo-
ple's Society was held in Northside
United) Church on Ttiesday evening,
with the president, Mr. John Mills,
presiding. The meeting opened by
singing "Work For the Night is Corn.-
ing," which was fellowedi by the
Lord's Prayer repeated in unison-. The
business- was discussed and the roll
called. After singing "Marching On,"
Miss Luella Kaine gave a reading.
Miss Marjorie McMichael read the
Scripture. Mr. Sam Scott gave a very
inspiring talk on "A' Devout Chris
tian." The meeting closed by singing
"Blest Be the Tie That Binds."

Death of Mrs. Roger McClure. -A
very sudden death occurred in Citn-
ten Hospital on Saturday, April 2nd,
when Reatena. Mae Alliseu, wife of Mr.
Roger McClure, of Brussels, passed
away. She had beetle ailifig for some
time, but was only seriouslY ill for
neve days. Mrs. McClure wt'sborn
in Sydenham. England, 42 years ago
and she was married in. September,
1926, to Mr. Roger McClure, who with
one son survive. She also . leaves
three sisters and three brothers in
Sydenham, England. Sihe came to

Friday, April lst, when Mrs. Nelson
Govenlock Was brought frem Water-
ford to Seaforth for interment in
Maitlandbank • cemetery,
The serVice was conducted by her
pastor, the Rev. Mr. J. A. Diaz, 'of
Waterford, assisted. the Rev. Mr.
Gordon Peddie. A quartette consist-
ing of Messrs. Jas. T. Scat, M. R.
Rennie, D. L. Reid and F. E. Willis
sang "Crossing the Bar" and "Sweet
Horne." .
The pallbearers were three uncles

Sproat, R. 'H. Sproat, Roy Burchill,
Jack Burchal and Bob Burchill.
