WITH BIG PARADE
With the annual Lions Club Frolic
Friday of next week, but one week
Pay, members of the club are work-
ing in a frenzy of excitement in or -
(lea that no stone may be left un-
to aware a real evening's en-
tertainment for the hundreds. upon
- hundreds of grown-aps and kids who
will celebrate Hallowe'en as guests
of the Seafortb, Lions Club.
Casting a fatherly eye over every
detail, General Chairman Lion Craw-
ford! M. (Smitty) Smith, at the name
time exhorts every eoramittea to
greater efforts in the hope that this
Frolic of 1937 may be the best yet.
With this is view he andhis com-
mittee have provided entertainment
par excellence in the person of the
"One -Man Band," widely known radio
star and one dine artist on Major
Bowes' famed amateur hour. Playing
seventeen different instruments, the
band ien everainga. .ente.rtainment
in itself. Other innovations this year
will be a cheeking roqm where pat -
alone may park their booty while they
go back to the booths to try for
more; a change booth, which will
eliminate waiting for change at the
games; separate exits, and increased
accommodation at the entnances, and
a heated &easing room.
Commencing with a parade 'Of
school kids incostume from, Victoria'
Park, headed by the Seaforth High-
landers Band, the evening will get
under way with a bang.

8 pan., the Lions will play give-and-
take when. Lions John Beattie and C.
E. Smith will give candy to the kid-
dies, while Lions McMillan, Holmes,
Mullen and Mills will take a dime
each from, the adults.
Lionaaal. F. Daly has personally
selecatilr hum:Veda of geese, ducks and
chickensand Will preside at the wheel
as Lions Bechely and McMaster pass
out the poultry to the crowd.
Another wheel, with Lion Bill Dun-
can as master of ceremonies,. will
dispense all those hundreds of house-
hold pecestsities, such as blankets,
lamps and so on ad indratum. As
sisting will be Lions Barber and. Jim
Stegaart.

Seaforth Lions Hallowe'en
Frolic Will Attract
Over 2,500.
The history of the Hallowe'en Frolic
has been a succession of broken at-
tendance records.
Now being held for the, eighth con-
secutive year the Frolic next Friday
is expected to draw over 2,500 people
of this district to the Seaforth rink:
In 1936 over 2,000 took part in the
fun.
Started in a email way the frolic
row ranks as the leading . annual ev-
ent in the district .,and an.nualla at-
tracts crowds from greater distances.
The Members of the Seaforth Lions
Club have built up a frolic organiza-
tion of unique efficiency in order that
the big crowds may be properly ac-
commodated. That they have
been successful is evidenced by. the
attendance records that have fallen
year by year.

That gem of antiquity, known the
world over as Bird .Cage, but here in
a new form, will be in the capable
hands of Lions Ferguson, Reid and
"Mena:
Sports and entertainment will be
under the personal direction of Lions
Jackson, Hussey and Meir. The ap-
petites, of the -crowd will be attended
to by Lions Bas. Duncan and Nels.
Cardno, who have arranged for two
refreshment booths in order that no
one will have to wait for food.
Lions Chamberlain and 3arrott are
sponsoring one of the biggest values
in the Frolic when they opeh their
chocolate store. Here for only five
cents you may win a pound of nation,
ally known chocolates. •
The children wall delight in-the
Black Cat Novelty Booth, which was
planned especially for them. Alice
Daly and Janet Cluff are in. charge.
- The miilk bottle game, under the
• guidance of Lion Elmer D. Bell. and
the ring -the -bottle game with Lioa
Ned Boswell will be other popular
features.
Easy money will be waiting for
those wbo play the game Lion
Bechely • has arranged. All one
has to do is place a ring around any
one of a wealth of coins lying on a
table and the coin is yours.
Throughout the .ivening- tickets on
the ear and other valuable prizes may
be purchased from, Lionsi Ed. Keat-
ing, Charlie Stewart and. 13411 Sproat.
The draw takes plaice at 11.45 p.m.
at the Rink.

The Need Was,
Never Greater

Lionisin at -its highest is an effort
on the part Of a number -or -eit1zer4
to afford an organized and economic
avenue where by a .community and
its surrounding .districts, 'may make
a united endeavour to remove the
ba.nclicaps from underprivileged, in
capieated crippled children, in order
that those children, may enjoy health
and happiness.
For fifteen y,ears, the Seaforth Liana
Club bias unceasingly labored to con-
vert into national assets, childraen who
through no' fault of their own, might
become permanent public liabilities.
The past year has been unusually
heavy in financing the treatment of
these unfortunate children, and in
addition we are facing a very heavy
expendittue to care for the thirty-one
crippledachildten who were presented:
at the Lions clinic recently beta in
Scott Memanial Hospital.
Many of the children attending the
recent olinic will have to hefinanced
by the Lions Club in, order that they
have the operations, appliances and
hospitalization necessary to success-
ful treatment:.
The club is fully aware of the ne-
ceeeita• of keeping ,children strong
and healthy. Each winter it is our
custom to distribute on an average
of io,poo pint of milk to needy chil-
dren.
