Bayfieild's New. Bridge
Work , on the quarter -million -dollar
bridge proposed to span the river at
the village of Bayfield probably' will
commence next •spring, Jas. Bailees
tyne, M:P.P., for Huron, told this pa-
per during. a, brief visit to Goderich
this week. Mr. Ballantyne stated that
although tentative survey work , was
being conducted this fall no actual
work would be done this year: The
bridge proposal has been mooted
many months now. It has come to be
regarded as an absolute necessity ow-
ing to inoreesed speed limits and im-
proved roads. At.present a short one
way bridge spans •the river, and it is
reached by driving` down a long wind-
ing hill on either side. Numerous
accidents have occurred on these hills.
The new bridge will span the entire
.river valley.—Goderich Star.
