It was the seven- tieth anniversary of the erection of the present. place of worship. The Rev. H. V. Workman, of Petrolia, well and favorably known in this commun- ity, was the guest speaker. 'Mr. Work- men's sermons, were interesting and sstimulatieg, and they were much ap- preciated by then -large audiences that greeted .him morning and evening. The choir, with the help of Mr. Har- rison, of Colborne St. Church, Lon- don, contributed their share to the enrichment of the services. Bridge Work , on the quarter -million -dollar bridge proposed to span the river at the village of Bayfield probably' will commence next •spring, Jas. Bailees tyne, M:P.P., for Huron, told this pa- per during. a, brief visit to Goderich this week. Mr. Ballantyne stated that although tentative survey work , was being conducted this fall no actual work would be done this year: The bridge proposal has been mooted many months now. It has come to be regarded as an absolute necessity ow- ing to inoreesed speed limits and im- proved roads. At.present a short one way bridge spans •the river, and it is reached by driving` down a long wind- ing hill on either side. Numerous accidents have occurred on these hills. Futlarton Young Man Hurt An accident of a. rather serious; nature occurred on Sunday night at Gould's School Oeorner on Highway No. 8, when a car driven by Lloyd Cole, Fullerton, left the road and after turning over came too a stop in the ditch on the wrong' side of the highway.
