Huron and Ashfield Townships are

of the roadbed of the defunct On-
tarrio West 'Shore Railroad, Goderieh
to Kincardine, being • used by the
Government for the rerouted High-
way No. 21, which is now under con-

To the present generation, the

does'not mean a. thing, few even hav-
mg heard of it. But thirty years ago
to the people of the West Shore, and
in fact to all the people of Huron,
.the- .West, Railway was looked

of transportation , and a new era of
prosperity to this county.
At that time it was firmly believed
that the building of the railway

only „to the two terminal towns, but
to all the farmers lying between and
