To the Electors of
uroro,
In again seeking the support of sty felidw-electors on election
day, October 6th, I am remindful and grateful for the splendid vote
that was given me in the last election, and 1 also appreciate the -cote
ficience again placed in me ab the Liberal Convention.
During my term as Member,'I have ever been mindful of the in-
terests of the taxpayers of Huron County and have supported Mr.
Hepburn with his program of tax reductions.. Much has been ac-
complished in the matter of Highways, Roads and Bridges for Huron.
Under Premier Hepbern the Provincial Government has assumed tbe
total cost of all highways and has increased by ten per cent. the
grant on all township road. The Government has assumed the entire
cost of Mothers' Allowances and of Old Age Pensions. The amuse-
ment tax—a source of annoyanco has been lifted. A subsidy of one
mill on the local assessment has been given. to, each municipality.
The reduction in Hydro rates has meant diollars to the consumers and
is enabling the extension of this utility to the farmers of this Coun-
ty. The latest saving, which ,benefits all motorists,, is a $6.00 reduc-
tion in automobile license fees.
Regardles of political affiliations, every citizen must admit if he is
sincere with himself, that the administration of Premier Hepburn has
relieved the drain and strain of the taxpayers? pocketbooks in many
ways. On October 6th you will have the opportunity of Showing how
much you appreciate the handling of the finances of this province.
. The savings that have been effected for the people of the County
of Huron since the Hepburn Administration took office aroma to
the amazing sum of $336,175.55, and are made up as foRows: - •

t
a flick of a switch, or the touch of a button summons your personal Genii. You should
know him better. His name is Hydro. , •
It is he who, while you slept, kept the motor humming on the blower or oil heater, so that
you awoke to a warm comfortable -house. It is he who makes the toast—cooks the meals --
bakes the cakes—runs the vacuum cleaner, the washer and -the ironer.
And what a friend when you Zane down in your favorite chair at night to read or sew under
proper light, with your radio to bring the best in entertainment I You retire in security,
knowing that should emergency strike, he can be summoned instantly—Lights! Telephone!
What other service can you buy at such low cost, that does so
much? - And while the price of practically everything we buy has
steadily advanced during the past two years, the Hydro has, and
is, steadily lowering the cost of electricity to you. In. addition,
every effort is being made to extend the benefits of Hydro, every-
where in the Province of Ontario.
As a partner in this great enterprise, you should take a keen
interest in everything that pertains to Hydro, and its efforts to
lower power costs still further.
