Successful Candidate Speaks

Miss Elizabeth Cerling, daughter of
the late Isaac Carling and Ann Balk -
will, passed away at her residence,
Huron Street, Exeter, Saturday even-
ing, in her 85th year. Miss Carling,
in her younger days, was an active
worker in the Trivet Memorial An-
glican Church in Exeter. The depart-
ed, had been in failing health for
about three years. Surviving are three
sisters, Miss Mary Carling end Miss
Ida Carling, Exeter; Mrs. Reginald El-
liott, Toronto, and one brother, W. J.
Carling, Exeter.

Mrs. Sarah Geiser died Wednesday
night in her 73rd year after an

in Stephen .Townehip and was mar-
ried to William B. Gaiser, who pre-
deceased him by five years. She was
a member not the Crediton. Evangelical
Church_ She is survived by three
sons and five daughters: Emanery, of
Stephen; Royal, Crediton, and Borden
at h e; Mrs. Almer Truenamer, Ches-
le , Miss Pearl Geiser, Toledo; Mrs.
Wilkie MeEwen, Ansa Craig, and Miss
Addle Geiser, Crediton. Thne funeral
took place on Saturday afternoon with
burial in the Crediton cemetery. Ren,
H. E. Rloppel, of the Evangelical
Church, Dashwood, officiated.

ering was the largest of its kind, and
the gifts were many to start house-
keeping, and the good wishes of the
gathering went forth to the would-be
bride and groom who will reside on
the groomei farm in Logan.

ing operations, and all is well with
fair returns.

Anterior Poliomyelitis (Infantile Paralysis)
has assumed almost epidemic proportion in
some localities.
The local Medical Health Officers request
the eo-operation of parents and teachers to al-
low no child to attend school who presents' any
of the SyniptOMS mentioned in the previously
issued notice, or who otherwise -shows signs of
any acute illness, and to promptly notify family
physician and Health Officer.
