Girls' Softball
After the children's races a game
of softball between the Waterloo Sea -
grams and the Kitchener Arrowettes
was the main attraction. The Sea -
grams forged ahead in the first in-
ning, to put them well in the lead.
The Arrowettes, after muffin -g some
nice groundere, settled down and
gradually crept up Until' at the begin-
ning of the sixth the score Iva§ .15-11
for the Seagrams. The Arrowettes
ecored two to put Item in the race
15-13, but in the first half of the sev-
enth the Seagrams scored four runs
and then shut out the Arrowettes to
finish the ,ganee 19-13.

Races at Agricultural Park occupied
the afternoon and following this Sea -
forth defeated St. Columban's Saints
1-0 at the Recreation Park. D. Sills
scored( the only goal of the game after
16 minutas of play in the first half.
The victory gave them second' place
-
in the southern section. It was a
good, clean game throughout with,
both goalies being over-worked • at
times. It was the Saints: first losiof
the season.
After the football game the Higa-
landere Baaid led the crowdi up to Vic-
toria Park where a midwayand dance
was held. The large crowd kept the
booth and concessions busy all even-
ing. -The open air dance floor was
crowded to .capacity.

A delightful grandmothers tea was
held at the tome of Mrs. A. D. Mc -
Ewan -recently, the group of which
Mrs. Roy MacLeren is the leader, ar-
ranging this affair. A pleasant en-
tertaininig and social time was s.pent
and enjoyed. iVIrs. W. A. Young very
pleasiagly eddressed the grand-
mothers. The prize for the 'oldest
grandmother present went to Mrs.

hostess to a lovely trousseau tea at
her home for her daughter, Louise;
whose wedding to ,Maynard Harmon,

Louise, smartly gowned in navy blue
erepe, received upwards of some hun-
dred guests. Miss Marion Drummond

red roses, tall candles of pink and
blue, and lovely decorations of pale
pink and blue streamers hung sus-
pended from the chandelier forming
a pretty setting, while numerous floor
lamps completed( the decorations. Mrs.
M. G. Drysdale, in a lovely dress of
pale blue lace, poured tea in the af-
ternoon, While Mrs. Garnet Case, in
white, •dress' and smart brown satin
coat, poured tea in the evening. The

sisters of the bride -elect, looking

white linen Suit served -dainty refresh-
ments. The bride -elect, until a few
weeks ago, was a valued, member of
