Brother Dies in WesteeThe Wblse-
ley of Wolseley, Seakatehewan,
makes tete following reference to the
death of a former well known resi-
dent of the Cromarty district, and a
brother of Mr. Neil G4llespie, of Sea -
forth: "Another of e pioneers of
'82 has passed away itt the person of
Donald Gillespie, who died at his home
in the Alexander district early Mon-
day morning after an illnesslasting
five days. Mr. Gillespie has always
had good health tont was in Wolseley
the Saturday evening previous to his
death meeting and talking with
friends. Mr. Gillesetie was born at
DalbousieeLanark County, Ontario, on
'March 26. 1851, and ree,entle when
celebrating his eighty-sixth birthday
he was joined at his hoe by many
of his neighbors. On December 31,
1879, the married Mary McKaig. They
lived at Cromarty, Ont., for two years
-when they moved west, residing at
Portage la Prairie, a year, and then
coming to Wolseley and taking a
homestead nine Miles north and west
of town in the Alexander district, and
this was their home for the rereaind-
er of their lives. Mrs. Gillespie died
on September 19, 1931. To them were,
born six children; four of whom sur-
vive, viz: James and Angus, of Kyle,
Sask.; and William and Neil , of
Wolseley. He is also survived by
two brothers, James, of Chicago, Ill.,
and Neil, of Seaforth, Ont., and two
sisters, Mrs. Robert Pur and Miss
Jessie Gillespie, •of Brandon."

Dungey Beckner. -4 The wedding
took place in London on Wednesday,
June 9tib, of Mrs. Hazel Beckner and
Mr. Roy Dungey, Seaforth. Rev. Mr.
Bice performed the ceremony.
Son -in -Law Dieso-Mr. and Mrs. W.
..T. Walker, of Seaforth, have received
word of the death of their sons-in-law,
J. R. Cameron, of Toronto. He is
survived by his" -wife, formerly Miss
Grace Walker.
Bride -To -Be Honored. -A pleasant
evening was spent at the home of
Mr. and Mrs.. Thomas Rands on
Tuesday evening in honor; of their
daughter, Mayhell, whose marriage is
to take place shortly to Mr. Guy Ryan
of Lucan. The bride-to-be was quite
taken by surprise when her Sunday
&cheat class and other friends pre-
sented herewith a kitchen shower. An
appeopriate address was read by Mrs.
A. L. Porteous, her Sunday school
teacher. The beide-to-be replied in a
few well-chosen ,words. The remaind-
er of the evening was spent in con,
tests and singing favourite songs. A
dainty lunch was then served and by
the singing of "Auld Lang Syne" an
enjoyable evening was brought to a
close.
Death of Mr. George Brown. - The
death occurred in Scott 1 -Memorial
Hospital on Tuesdiay, June 8th, of Mr.
George Brown, who for many years
has been a well known and respect -
resident of Seaforth and vicinity. Mr.
Brown had been in poor health for
same time, haviog been confined to
the house since the first of the year,
and on Friday of last week he was
removed to theleospital. The deceas-
ed was born in Englaind, but -came to
Canada when quite yhung, settling in,
Egmondville... In 1914 Mr. Brown pur-
chased a home on Huron Street, Sea -
forth, where he and. Mrs. Brown re-
sided until her death two years ago,
since ethical time Mr. Brown had made
his home in Egtaondville. -He is -ger-
vived by two half sisters, Mrs. Zubrick
of Wyandotte, Michigan, and Mrs. Jno.
L. Smith, of Seaforth, and by one
half brother, Mr. Charles Williams, of
Creelman, Saskatchewan. The funeral
'yeas held from the home of Mrs.
Smith on Thursday afternoon when
the services were conducted by Rev.
A. W. Shepherd, of Egmondville Unit-
ed Church, ,followed by interment in
Egmondville cemetery. Tee pallbear-
ers were' Messrs. John Stewart, 3. J.
Sclater, Marshall Smith, M. McLeod,
W. C. Govereock and Robert Joynt.

The Ladies' Aid and W. M. S. meet-
ing was held at the home of Mrs. Er-
rol Habkiik• on June 2nd,. Mrs; He-
len presided' and opened the meeting
edtle a hymn, which was followed by
oileat prayer for the new missionaries
gone to foreign fields,. The minutes
were read and adopted. The roll call
was answered by a verse on Conse-
cration and • showed a, 'good attend-
ance. Business was discussed and
plans were made for the- garden par-
ty to be iheld on June 25th. Mrs. Ern-

this part of the meeting with a hymn
and Mrs. Wilmer Cuthill read the
Scripture lesson from Luke, followed
with prayer by Mrs. Wm. Somerville.
The devotional leaflet was taken by
Min Wm. Church. . Mrs. R. McClure
gave a reading entitled, "The Mission-
ary Potato?' Mrs,. James Hogg gave
the topic and Miss Mergaret•Habkirk
sang a solo. The meeting closed with
