idly from his late slimes in • Scott
Memorial Hospitals Seaforth.
The many friends of Mr. John Leon-
hard:t werer-sorry to learn: that ' he
was rushed to the -General, Hospital,
Stratford, where he is oonvalescing
from his late illness, and hiss'' many
friends wish him a speedy 'recovery.
Jack Frost has been busy of late
testing the weak •spots, as winter has
set in in earnest, but if the old pro-
verb comes true, January will be a-
mild month, which, no .doubt, would
be welcome.
The many friends of Master Steph-
en McKay are pleased to learn that
he is recovering from 'his late o'pera-
ti'on in Scott Memorial Hospital.

last winter.

Fair.

Miss Aggie Stirling has gone to
Seaforth for the winter.
There was a very 'heavy' fall of
snow last week and roads nearly
blocked, The county plow opened
the read between Clinton and Bayfield
but • a heavy blow has about filled
them again.
There will be no election for Vil-
lage Trustees, Those for the ensuing
year are William Ferguson, Murdock
Ross and Leslie Elliott.
'Mr. Jack Atkinson and Mr. Chester
McGillvary 'motored to Detroit on
Monday.

We are glad to mention Abet Mr.
John Henderson, of the Landon Road,
who has been. under the d'octor's care
for the 'past week or so, is gradually
• improving.

W. Cooper which was held' from his
home on Monday last. •
Mises Etta Js,rrott, of Toronto, spent
the week -end at the home of her
mother, Mrs. Isaac Jarrett, to the
west of the village.
During the next few weeks large
flocks.of fowl, which have been tak-
en care of by farmers' wives, will
be disposed of ,at our, general stores
.here, and will, 'no doubt, 'receive
some nice tidy terms+ for same which
will be very welcome as the Christ-
mas season is drawing near and at
such a time c'onsid'erable cash is
needed. -

Stratford, visited at the home of Mr.
Thomas Butt, of the village, during
the past week,

Thee Women's Missionary Society
and Women's Association of Kippen
United' Church held a birthday party
in the Sunday school room of St. An-
drew'bs United Church on Wednesday
of this week, when a special program
was given. At •the conclusion of the
program, lunch was served arid an
enjoyable .time was spent by all pres-
ent.
