Dies in Toronto. -The death occur-
red in Toronto. on Tuesday of Marion
Rotherford Hlolden, beloved wife . of
W. C. T. Morson, formerly Manager
of the Canadian Batik of Commerce,
Seafortht The late Mrs. Morson was
the mother of Mrs. J. H. Best, of
Seaforth. The funeral took place
from her late residence, 52 .Belsize
Drive, Toronto, on Thursday after-
noon with interment in Mount'Pleas-
ant Cemetery.

Sholdice-Pethick.—A quiet but pret-
ty wedding was solemnized in Gode-
rich on Wednesday, November 4th, at
four o'clock by Rev. Mr. Lane, when
Catherine Grace Pethick,. daughter of.
Mr. and Mrs. John Pethick, Seaforth,
was united in . marriage --to Mr. Wat-
son Sholdice, son of Mr. and Mrs.
James Sholdice, of Walton. The bride
was attired in a pretty gown' of plueti
colored velvet with accessories to
match. After a honeymoon trip Mr.
and Mrs. Sholdice will reside north
of Londesboro.
Death of'Samuel J. Spencer.—The
people:. of Seaforth were shocked' to
Learn of the passing away of Mr.
Samuel J. Spencer, which occurred
at his home on Saturday, October 31.
Mr, Speslcer had undergone an opera-
tion about three weeks ago in St.
Joseph's Hospital, London, and was
able to be brought home last week.
Complications set in and he passed
away suddenly. The late Mr. Spencer
was born at St. Joseph and lived
there as Postmaster with his sister,
Miss Rachel., for many years. They
came to reside in Seaforth nineteen

Dies in Toronto.—John E, J,, Pang-
man, member of the brokerage firm
of Avers Pardoe and Co., a resident
of Toronto for Jnore than 30 years,
died i.n his Dunvegan Rd. h nee -yest-
erday. He was 58 years old' and was.
born and educated in Collingwood.
He attend St. Abban's Church and
was' a memlber or the Royal Canadn
Yacht Club. He is sui•wived by his
wife, formerly Miss Case of Seaforth,
a •daughter, Harriet, and two sons,
Jack and George, and one sister.and
two brothers. The late Mr. Pangman
is well known in Seafort , having
been in The Bank of Coe ' erce here
a number of years.
C. W. L. Holds Meeting. —. The
monthly meeting of the Catholic Wo-
men's League was held on November
1st, Mrs. F. Devereaux presiding. Af-
ter the minutes of�the previous meet-
ing were read, splendid reports were
given by the various convenors, in-
cluding one from the Social Service
'Canven,or, Mrs. C. P. Sills,:.who..thank-
ed'the ladies for the generous dona-
tion of clothing which is being- sent
to the West this week. An interest-
ing and detailed account of the
Diocesan Convention., held recently in
Wallaceburg, was, given by the presi-
dent, Mrs. F. Devereaux, who was
appointed Councillor for Huron at the
convention. An appreciative talk -by
Rev. Father Hussey on the charitable
work done by the C. W. L., concluded
the evening.
Death of Mr. Thomas O'Loughlin.—
Th•anih,s O'LoughIin, one of the best
`known residents of this district, died
at his home in.Seaforth on , Monday
morning, following a lengthy illness,
at the, age of 71. Mr. O'Loughlin was
born in McKillop and spent the early.

sion. He afterwards sold his farm in
McKillop and took a trip to'the West.
Returning, he purchased a home in
Egmondville and later' a farm. in Tuck-
ersmith, retiring to Seaforth in the
spring of 1935. In 1921 he was'unit-
ed in marriage to Miss Margaret
Prendergast, daughter of the late Mr,
and Mrs. John Prendergast, of Tuck-
ersmith. He was a devout member
of St. James' Catholic Church, Sea -
forth, also of the Holy Name Society,
the Altar Society and the Sacred
Heart. Beside. his widow he is sur-
vived by two sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth
Murray, Dublin, and Mrs. John Men-
aces, Tawas City, Michigap-. The fun-
eral took place on Wednesday morn-
ing to St. James cemetery, with Rev.
T. 1'. Hussey officiating. The pall-
bearers were Jts. O'Loughlin, Thos.
Purcell, D. Maloney, G. Murray, An-
gus Kennedy and P. McIver.

Death of Thomas Daiy. Thames
Daly, one of the pioneer business men
of this, district, and a resident of Sea -
forth and Egmondville all his life,
passed peacefully away at the home
of his daughter, Mrs.. F. Devereaux,
John Street, on. Wednesday afternoon.
Born in Egmondville in. 1849, son of
the late .John Daly and Mary Kenne-
dy, the late Mr. Daly was in his 88th
year.. At the time of his death he.
was the oldest native resident of Sea -
forth and Egmondville. Some years
ago'he lost his sight but despite this
handicap had always a, cheery greet-
ing for his many friends, whom he
quickly recognized by their voices.
Until a few stays ago he regularly
visited his' son, Mr. J. F. Daly .at his
garage on Main Street. In 1873 he
married Alice Allen, of St. Marys, who
predeceased him a number of years
ago. He commenced in business in
1886, purchasing the grocery business
of , P. Megary in the present Shinan
store, whicir . he conducted until 1922.
The late Mr. Daly is survived by one
son, John• F., .S•eaforth, and • Three
daughters, Mrs. B. M, O'Connell,. De-
troit; Mrs. F. Devereaux and Mrs. F.
Sills, Seaforth, also -sixteen grand-
children and one great grandson. The.
funeral will take place Friday morn-
ing from the ,home of his daughter,
Mrs'. F. Devereaux, John Street, to St.
James"'Church. Six of his grandsons,
Mes'srs. Edmund Daly, George Daly,.
Francis Devereaux, James O'Connell,
D. Sills and T. Sills, will act as pall-
bearers.

Que., son of Mr. and Mrs,. William
Ament, of Seaforth, Rev. Dr. John
Gibson Inkster officiated, against a
background of bronze ',mums and
palms. Mr.:M. M. Steveson presided
at the organ and, Miss Verna McCon-
nell sang "All Joy Be Thine." The
bride, given in marriage by her father
was in white satin, the gown made
on fitted lines and sweeping out into
a train. Puffed sleeves to the elbow

veil was of embroidered, net arranged

Vera O'Dell attended the bride- as
