The women of thevillage and eons-

when they quiltecl and donated eight
quilts, which will be packed with the
clothing for the bale for the West
this week.
At the morning service . last 'Sun-
day Rev, .Mt. Hazen, of London,
preached a most stirring sermon on
Temperance, telling .of the terrific
evil that the drink parlors have done
to our land. Yearesago a .woman. was
very seldom seen in a bar. room, but
now they crowd to the parlors; and
it seems respectable. He said there
were 68 millions doll -ars spent in On-
tario last year. What is there to
show for it? Nothing but degraded
lives, loss of character and ruined
souls. Liquor has been the cause of
many climes and accidents. Th e
churches of our land will 'have to
strive to do all in their power to put
down this terrible curse from our
midst. We can all pray and we know
that God is on our side.
