Both are in the enjoyment of excel-
lent health, although Mr. Jacobs is
now ierhis 92nd year.
The First Christmas.—"The First
Christnnas" was the title of thki can -
tat presented in First Presbyterian
Church on Sunday evening last by
the choir, under the direction of Mr.
M. R. Rennie, and Mrs. Rennie, as
organist. Mr. Stewart Geddes as-
sisted on the violin . in• one of the
numbers, while the soloists were as
follows: Mrs. J. A. Munn, Mrs. J. E.
Daley, Miss Harriett Murray, Mrs. J.
A. Kerr, Mr. Gordon Rennie, Mr.
Douglas H. Stewart, Mr. Harry Mc-
Leod and Mr. Jas. T. Scott, The
choir loft was decorate] with ever-
greens and colored lights and made
a fitting picture for the Christmas
music.
Blanchard-Fralick.—A quiet wed-
ding was solemnized at the Melville
-Presbyterian Manse, Brussels, on
Tuesday afternoon, at 5 p.m., when
Miss Alice Fralick, of Morris Town-
ship, was married to Melvin James
Blanchard, of MicKillop Township.
The ceremony was performed by Rev.
W. Moore. Mr. and Mrs. Blanchard'
will reside on the bridegroom's farm
in McKillop.
McKillop W. M. S. Meet.—The an-
nual meeting of the McKillop 'branch
of the W.M.S. of Pirst Presbyterian
Church. was held en Thursday after-
noon at the home of Mrs. Mary Haw-
thorne, North Main Street. The
president, Mrs, J. L. Bell, occupied
the chair. The story of the birth of
Christ, from the second chapter of
Luke, was given by Mrs, R. N, Dor-
rance. Miss Jean Scott read a paper
on "Prayer As a Trust." The Glad
Tidings Prayer was given by Mrs,
Helen McMillan. Mrs. John Carter
favored with a solo, and 'les. H. C.
Feast presided during •the election of
officers which resulted as follows:

manager of the Dressograph firm in
:VIo'ntreal, whose death occurred
suddenly from an acute heart attack
when on a 'business trip t'o Ottawa
on Thursday,, were interred on Mon-
day in the family plot in Maitland -
bank cemetery, the pallbearers being
