The Seaforth Doubles
•
Have you heard n the tournament
we had 'in Seaforth Town,
When •1sowlers •came from far and
near, howlers of renown?
The eleventh of September was the
date, we'll net forget;
'Tis our annual reunion, when many
merry men are met.
Tito hour o•f was two o'clock; lack
•+ Chaff took off his hat;
He is our worthy President, and a
good one toe., at that. -
He said we're mighty glad to see, so
many bowlers here,
And I know you all are aniious the
"Kittyy" to draw near.
The entry ores a record, there were
pairs just sixty-three,
And.the man in charge, Charles Stew-
art, was ai busy as could be; •
There were no delays between the
games; Jim Willis saw to that
And Secretary Eddie Bri'g'ht male
them line up on the mat.
The greens were just a picture, with
the lights turned on at night,
1'1,l we want to say to Bobby Joynt,
you're caretaking just all right;
Complaints were few and far between
•• • m those who play the game,
And th `logan as they left us was:
We're coming back again.
The ladies served a banquet, as only
Seaforth ladies can;
Your plate was running over, at five
and thirty cents per man.
As a Club we're mighty lucky 'to have
such a willing bunch;
They can do a geed 'job, and a goad
job serving lunch.
Ali those who saw the prizes; pre-
nounced them very -fine;
1'wo suits of clothes for first prize
a. Tip ,Top tailored line.
The Seaforth 'bo'wlers all fell down,
as the records plainly show,
Rut still they sang "The Sailors arid
Yo, Iso, Yo Ho, Yo Ho.
