Mission Band ef First Presbyterian
Church held itis • first meeting of • the
year on Wednesday, frith Alma El-
liott, the new president, inc the chair.
The new secretary, Ruth McNaia-n.
gave the annual 'report, and jet e
Mill, treasurer, gave the treasurer's
annual report. Frank Mills took up
the collectiot and the Band' followed
this by stinging "Response after the
offering." 1VIarion ,Sclater took the
chair for the devotional period. The
Band prayer was offered ibe Mar-
garet Barlow. In the business period
the Band was tivided intii two 'sec-
tions with Jean 'Mills end Betty Mc-
Leod as the leaders. The -lesson story
was told by Mrs. Wilson, and the
meeting was closed with prayer. •
Junior Women's Institute Award
Prizes.—The meeting of tlle Junior
Women's Institute was held in the'

Mrs. Andrew Crozier took the topic
on 'The Influence of the Institute in

Death of Mrs. Louis Hoegy
An esteemed pioneer resident of
this township was „removed by the
hand of -death on Tuesday, January
8th, when Mrs. Louis illoegy paseed
away at 'her home on; the 8th conees-
sion following an illneis of six weeks.
On November 27th, Mrs. Hoegy had
the misfortune to fall arnd fracture
her hip; an accident vibe% owing to
her advanced age and the shock she
was unable to overcome. The deceas-
ed whose maiden name was Louisa F.
BereOrnerm, was born inHanover,
Geemany, on March 27, 150, and had
reached the sidranced age of eighty-
five years. When five years of age
she came to Canada with her par-
ents, the family settling in. Fullarten
township,, where they remained for
four years, before coming to SleKii-
lop townhip, where they took up Lot
5 on the 8th concession when the
land was all bush. Sixtytwo years
ago last Jume she was united in mars
Hoge as Mr. Hoegy anal for fort-Y
two years resided on the 10th conces-
sion'. Mr. Iloegy predeceased her
eleven years -ago, but she is survived
by a fa -rally of four- daughters and
five sons: Mrs. William Ewald, Elk-
ton, Mich.; Mrs. H. Weiterreen, Me-
IQlop; Mrs. William Elea, -Mitchel;
Mrs. H. Klebter, Wianlmer, Sask.-, Mr.
Louis Ilaegy, :Seafo4h; 14ser.
Henry and George Hoegy, of ;Grey
