Miss McBride had attended church' the Sunday evening previous, which was the last time she was seen alive. Nothing,r however, wasthought o, her absence, as her work as dress- maker frequently took her to the country for a week at a time, and the neighbors thought she was this engaged last week. Towards the end of the week, however, when no in- formation could be obtained as to her whereabouts, the neighbors became alarmed and asked Mr, Sylvester Al- len to make an investigation. On en- tering the house Mr. Allen fotmnd the body of Miss McBride lying on a couch, with a coat over her night clothes. She had, apparently, been taken ill after retiring on Sunday evening and had arisen to go into another room, where she had secur- ed a glass of milk (before collapsing on the couch where the body was found. Dr. •.T. F. Burrows, coroner, was immnedibtely summoned, who de- cided an inquest was uzineeessary as death had ensued suddenly from 'na- tural cases. The deceased was horn' in Toronto township, near Brampton, 70 years ago and was a daughter of the late Joseph McBride and Ellen Wedgewood, her mother being a di- rect descendant of the great English potter, Josiah Wedgwood, and Miss cN E ' $*TOR To Inaugurate New Freight Service. -Starting about August 1st„the C.
