annual meeting of the Seaforth Golf
and Country Club will be held on
Tuesday evening next .in the Carnegie
Library. The reports of the direc-

and the annual statement of receipts

Members Hold Euchre. -The Ed-
elweiss Rebekah Lodge met Monday
with ,a large attendance. At the
close of the meeting there were eight
tables of ,prbgr'essive euchre in play,
the prize winners (being Miss Martha
Reid and Albert Baker, Miss Mae
'Smtith won the prize for guessing the
lucky number. Lunch' was ,served
and ,a pleasant time was enjoyed by
all.
Beavers Sponsor Euchre. -An en-
joyable stag euchre !was held in the
Town Hall on Friday evening under
the auspices ,of the Beaver 11ockey
Club. Some fourteen tables were in,
play and prizes were won 'by George'
Reevels and Harry Charters, first;
.R. A. Walter,. lone hands., and Wm.
Brine, lucky ticket, -the latter prize
being donated by G. A. Silts & Sons.

Ladies' Aid Tea is. Held. --'On Fri-
day afternoon last the Ladies' Aid
Society of First Presbyterian Church
held a very successful tea at the
home of - Mrs. James G. "Mbllen, God-
erich Street. From early -afternoon
until 6.30 p.m., t'he ladies, were busy
i$eiwing tea to those who had gather-
ed in the rooms, which were tastily

Robert Smith was at the dour and
Mrs. Mullen welcomed the guests in
the hall, while ,Mrs. 0. Neil directed
them to the dining room. The pro-

it as being in Exeter ana it was not

Death of Mrs. Robert Powell.
Death remlaved one of the oldest resd-
d'ents of this district on Thursday,
March 30th, when ,Mrs. Rdbt• Powell
passed away at her home in Egmond-
ville, at the great age of 91 years,
Mrs. -Powell, whose maiden name was
Catharine Wallace, was !born 1 in
County Down, Ireland, and 70 years
ago was united in marriae^e at •Ln ;_
don, to Mr. Robert Pow'�e?:, In 1878
the family moved) to Eg-m,ondville,
where she has since been a continu-
ous resident. ,Mrs. Powell was a re-
markably active woman and was
able to attend to her -household du-
ties un'ti'l the day; ,before her death,
when she suffered 'a stroke . of
apoplexy. Mr. Powell passed away
23 years ago, but she is survived.by
a family of five sons and three
daughters, ill.. John Powell, McKiI-
lop; Mr. William. Powell, Toronto;

of the Alert Vlission Band was held
