House of Refuge. Report.
Theire ane 91 inmates in the House
of Refuge, fourteen of wham were
adlmitted, during the year, and the
Home is self-sustaining, was inform-
ation contained in the report of J.
M. Govenlock, Inspector-. The num-
ber of days' board,, inmates, was
33,900; number of days' board, keep-
er's family and help, 1,850; the total
expenditure& on the House and farm,
.$16,0$1,38; add value of provisions
and fuel on handy 53,081-38. The
amount received from Ipaying inmates
was 511,54629.
A motion was srponsored by El-
liott and •Haake: That a request be
sent by this council to the Provin-
cial '.!Minister of Agriculture that he
take action regarding the excessive
rates charged by stock cto'nllm'ission-
ers in. the stook yards in regard to
shipment of live stock as we submit
in these hard time's when prices are
low there should bre corr'espond'ing
charges exacted by these low prices.
