of Exeter, had died suddenly. Mr.

years ago.
Death of John H. Medd.—John H.
Medd died suddenly at his home on
Saturday in Exeter, aged 84 years.
lir. Medd was born in Millbrook vil-
lage, Cavan Township, in the County
of Durham. Sixty-one years ago he
moved to a farm i Hullett Town-
ship, Huron Count"; where he lived
until nine years ago, when the fam-
ily moved to Exeter. He is survived
by his wife, four sons and one daugh-
ter. They are: W. G. Medd, M.L.A.,
of Exeter; John H., of Nbbleford,
Alta.; F. Bruce, of McKillop Town-
ship; James E., on the homestead
near Clinton, and Mrs. George Lay-
ton, at present at Upland, California,
where Mr. and Mrs. Layton motored
en their wedding trip last fall, in-
tending to spend the winter. News
.of her father's death was telephoned
46 California from Exeter. Mrs. Lay-
ton arrived home Wednesday morning
and her husband will follow later by
motor. The funeral was held on
Wednesday afternoon to Kinburn
cemetery at his old home in 'Hhlllett.
Rev, C. J. Moorhouse had' charge of
the service.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

2.—All entries must be made with the Sec-
retary before 1.30 p.m.
8.—Brood mares must show visibly in foal.
4.—Ages of horses to date from Jan. let.
5.—The judges will be perticular to regard
merit in all stock competition and withhold
nny premium if they consider the animal un-
elesterving. and a that or second prize will
not be given to a third class animal, or in
a sweepstake if they corusider the competition
not sufficient.
6.—Every exhibitor must produce his entry
ticket in every class, otherwise the animal
will not be judged.
