Mr. Keine is a young man, a graduate of Knox College, and a preaoher of merit. Hospital lInspection.-S eaf or t Memorial Hospital was visited last week by tw-o inspectors of the Pro- vincial Department, who, after a thorough inspection, expressed them- selves as being delighted with the hospital. They stated: "Seafortla has one of the neatest hospitals to be found in the province, and its re- cord in •the Provincial Department is second to none." Free Trips to the Royal Winter Fain -Word has been received that the "500 Boys" Trip" to the Royal Winter Fair which was inaugurated by the Ontario Government last year, is to be repeated this year. Ten boys will be selected from each county through the medium of a special live stock and seed products judging com- petition. This will be held in Clinton on Friday, October 2th, commencing at 9 a.m. Previous winners of this trip are not eligible, but all other young men, farmer's sons or residing on farms in Huron County and who are between the ages of 16 and 23 (October 1st) should make it a point to attend this competition and win a trip to the Royal Winter Fair. The judging competition and consequent- ly the selection of the ten winners will be in the hands of the local re- presentative of the Ontario Depart- ment of Agriculture. Educational Association. T k e fourth annual convention of the Huron County Educational Association of Trustees and Ratepayers, will be held in the auditorium of Clinton Colleg- iate Institute on Saturday, October 20th. Features ef the meeting will be a public speaking contest at 10 am, addreSses and discussions on "Grants to Public Schools," "Agricul- ture in Secondary Schools" and "The Township School Beards Bill." A cordial invitation is extended to all interested in educational matters to attend, also to the teachers ef the county. Sessions will be held at 10 am. and at 1.30 pen. William Archi- bald, of Seaforth, is the President of the Association, and Mrs. R. David - eon, Dungannon, es Secretary -Treas- urer. Home and School Association. -A very euccess-ful meeting ef the above Association was held in the Public school on Monday last, and the fol- lowing officers were elected for the ensuing year: President. Mrs. Chs. Holmes; let Vice -President, Mrs. Munn; 2nd Vice -President, Mrs. Mt Kenzie; 3rd Vice -President, Mrs. Spencer; Secretary, Miss B. Grieve; Treasurer, Mrs. R. E. Bright; and the convenors of committees were: - Programme Committee, Mrs. Bechely; Collegiate Committee, Miss Gillespie; Social Committee, Miss McLean; Membership Committee, Mrs. Israel; Welfare Comrmittee, Mrs. Crawforrd; Finance Committee, Mrs. Southgate. The date of the next meeting will be announced next week. G. Mur - die, of Stratford, to James N. Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. Smith, of Stratford. The ceremony was per- formed by Rev. James D. Jeffrey at Scovel Presbyterian Church, Detroit. The bride looked charming in an en- semble af grey beige broadcloth. They were attended by Mr. and Hrs. K. G. Peckham, of Flint, Mich. Immediate- ly after the eerernony the happy young couple left on a motor trip. On theirs return they will reside at 2929 Northwestern Avenue, Detroit." Death of William Rohh.-Many old friends in Seaforth and vicinity will deeply regret to learn of the death of Mr. William M. Robb, which oc- curred in Detroit on Friday, getaber nth. Mr. Robb was a son of the late Hugh R,abb, one of the pioneer busi- ness men of this district and was en- gaged in the packing business with his father in the old plant at Harpurhey for a number of years. Later, in partnership with his brother, John, he carried on a grocery and meat business in Seaforth until his removal to Detroit some 30 years ago. Mr. Robb had been a sufferer from heart trouble for some years. He is sur- vived by his -widow, formerly Miss Oliver, of Clinton, one daughter and three sans, Mrs. (Dr.) O'Brien, of De: troit; Mr. Allan Robb, of Colorado, and Messrs. William and Oliver Rabb, of Detroit. He is also servived by two 'brothers and one sister, Mr. John Rob, of Detroit, and ,Miss Robb and Mr. James Robb, of Se.aforth. The funeral viras held on Monday, inter- ment being made in Detroit.
