ELIMVILLE
Notes. -Mr. Andrew Boa preached
in this church on Sunday evening to
a large congregation. This was the
last time during his stay here, as
supply for Rev. Livingstone, being
one more Sunday than was expected.
His subject, "The Man of the Hour,"
was dealt with in a masterly way.
Drawing lessons from the life of Paul
he pictured the man of the hour as
he should be in every respect. He
very fittingly closed with a beautiful
poem, which he rendered with splen-
did expression. Mr. Boa also spoke
a few words in appreciation of the
kied treatment he has received on the
circuit during the past two mantles,
and we may say that he has made
many friends here and the best wish-
es of all go with him. If at any time
be is permitted to return, he will be
ateorded a hearty welcome. - Last
Sunday morning an Overland ear oc-
cupied by a man with his wife and
family, was going north from Eliere
villa when the car began to elide on
the road, it being very slippery from
the ram, when Net pest Mr. Will
Ideas' gate it struck off to the -west
aide of the road and the driver made
aregnick turn to the .t and was
idhfiged to steer straight for eke

Notes. - The United Church of
Brucefield had its reopening services
last Sunday after being eorapietely
redecorated. Most pleasing to the
eye, restful and dignified is the ap-
peareiree of the iritetior of the chew&

windows have been curtained in soft
cream broadcloth with the result that
worshippers no longer suffer from
eye -strain owing to the strong sun-
light shining in the eyes. Very gran
ifeing indeed to the ladies who are
responsible for the beautiful work
which has been done, were the re-
marks passed by members of the con-
gregation an Sunday. On Sunday
morning the minister of the church,
the nen. C. Gordon Armour, spoke
appreciatively a the Ladies' Cam-
mittee which has worked so etrenn-
ously and faithfully to accomplish the
work. Not being satisfied with de-
coratind the interior of the auditori-
um they also arranged to ve the
exterior of the church painted, and
the Manes. The floor of the choir
loft has beam all freshly covered with
heavy battleship linoleum, and like-

matter for deep gratification and
a thaidriulness that the response th the
appeal of the. Ladles' Committee hes
been so generously- responded tee and
the dortors of the necessary funds to
finance snob an landertaking are
amply newarded by the results. -An-
