Montreal, February 14. -Live stock for sale
en the *re markets to -day amounted to 614
cattle. 104 sheep and Iambs, 1,628 bogs and
868 calves, which included abopt 115 head
of cattle left over from last week, and some
75 relish cows. It was a sellers' market,
and on account of the light receipts buyers
bad to pay almost .what they were asked.

fered. The top price reported was 86.50 for
a picked lot of medium quality hatcher steers
and heifers weighing close to 1,000 pounds.
Another load of mixed quality steers and
heifers averaging close to 1,000 pounds
brought $6.25, and a load of 000 --pound handy
butcher cattle were sold for $6.16. One lot
of muse ateero averaging about 1,100 brought
55.25, and a load of 25 light °testa 0f inert
medium quality were weighed up at 06.00.
Real common cows and, heifers and sitcom
did not score the same , advance as butcher 48n Tuesday, February 280, at One 'clock
cattle. and Balm of this class were made at p,ln., on Lot 18, Concession 2, McKillop,
4lom $8.00 to 04.00. One lot of common 800 Farm Stock and Implements. Mrs. L. M.

Galvin were scarce and sold at steady

enough offered to make .a market.
Hoge were somewhat uncertain. Sales of
selects had been made at $12 and $18.25.
