Montreal, February 14. -Live stock for sale en the *re markets to -day amounted to 614 cattle. 104 sheep and Iambs, 1,628 bogs and 868 calves, which included abopt 115 head of cattle left over from last week, and some 75 relish cows. It was a sellers' market, and on account of the light receipts buyers bad to pay almost .what they were asked. Trading was active, end everything woe sold early, at prices paid to be from 0Pc 6. almost a dollar higher On the handy but - Per cattle. There were no good cattieof- fered. The top price reported was 86.50 for a picked lot of medium quality hatcher steers and heifers weighing close to 1,000 pounds.
