TURNBERRY
Death of a Pioneer—John Holmes,
one of the pioneers of Turnberry
Township, was found dead in bed
Sunday morning, when his daughter-
in-law, Mrs. Bert Holmes, with whom
he made his home. went to call him
for breakfast. The deceased had
r.ever been in robust health since he
broke his leg, some five years ago,
but' was not confined to bed, and his
sudden death was somewhat of a sur-
prise. Mr. Holmes was sixty-eight
years of age and had lived in Turn -
berry a short distance from his pres-
ent home, lot 28, concession 2, near-
ly all his 'life. Ile leaves one son,
Bert, one sister, Mrs. H. J. Lewis, of
'Turnberry, and six brothers, Alex., of
Owen Sound; Ben, of Dundas; Wil-
liam, of Wingham; Andrew, of Blue -
vale; James, of Pusl.inch, an David,
of Turnberry; also a ste?mother,
Mrs. Janet Iiolmes, of Turnberry.
IIis wife predeceased him about two
years ago.
