In addition to the above, they re- quire to pass the Middle School ex- amination before they can be admit- ted to the course for a second-class certificate, and the Tipper School ex- ammation before they can be ad- mitted to a course for a first-class certificate at the Normal Schools. Those who have already passed either of the foregoing examinations are reminded that the Normal schools open on Wednesday, September 14th, at 9 a.m., and that application there- fore 'mist be made to the Deputy Minister of Education not later than Satrday. August 27th„Application should be made at an early date. If applicants will elate dearly on the forms when and where they passed the Lower. Middle or Upper School examinations, as the case may be. they need not delay Mailing such applications on acennnt of not hav- ing received their ccrtitiicatcs. The answer papers of each candi- date whose marks won hl appear to iu-lift' an appeal have been already re -real; by the Appeal Examiners. Where such a candidate has still failed, the slatc•Iaent of marks will he stamped as reread and no further npi es) will he allowed. In all other cases of failure, appeals will not, be refused if made before September 1st, and accompanied by the fee of $2.00. If made after September 1st, the fee is $5.00. In addition to the successful candi- dates whose names appear herewith other candidates are entitled to stand- ing on certain subjects. These may have credit for all but one paper un- der the old regulations, which allow- ed one paper to be carried over as a supplemental examination, or they may have credit for ane nr more papers under the new regulations!, which allow credit for each paper upon which 50 per cent, is obtained. Since the new regulations add con- siderably to the number of candidates receiving partial credit, it is not prac- ticable this year to publish any ex- cept those completing the whole ex- amination.
