The following are -the results of the
High School Entrance Examinations
held the last week In June. The
papei a were considered very fair; a
larger percentage than usual .passed;

LOWER SCHOOL EXAMINATIONS
The candidates named below have
passed the Lower School examination
for entrance into the Normal Schools.
In addition to the above, they re-
quire to pass the Middle School ex-
amination before they can be admit-
ted to the course for a second-class
certificate, and the Tipper School ex-
ammation before they can be ad-
mitted to a course for a first-class
certificate at the Normal Schools.
Those who have already passed
either of the foregoing examinations
are reminded that the Normal schools
open on Wednesday, September 14th,
at 9 a.m., and that application there-
fore 'mist be made to the Deputy
Minister of Education not later than
Satrday. August 27th„Application
should be made at an early date. If
applicants will elate dearly on the
forms when and where they passed
the Lower. Middle or Upper School
examinations, as the case may be.
they need not delay Mailing such
applications on acennnt of not hav-
ing received their ccrtitiicatcs.
The answer papers of each candi-
date whose marks won hl appear to
iu-lift' an appeal have been already
re -real; by the Appeal Examiners.
Where such a candidate has still
failed, the slatc•Iaent of marks will
he stamped as reread and no further
npi es) will he allowed. In all other
cases of failure, appeals will not, be
refused if made before September
1st, and accompanied by the fee of
$2.00. If made after September 1st,
the fee is $5.00.
In addition to the successful candi-
dates whose names appear herewith
other candidates are entitled to stand-
ing on certain subjects. These may
have credit for all but one paper un-
der the old regulations, which allow-
ed one paper to be carried over as a
supplemental examination, or they
may have credit for ane nr more
papers under the new regulations!,
which allow credit for each paper
upon which 50 per cent, is obtained.
Since the new regulations add con-
siderably to the number of candidates
receiving partial credit, it is not prac-
ticable this year to publish any ex-
cept those completing the whole ex-
amination. The partial standing a-
warded on all subjects may be clear-
ly indicated on the official certificates
